Jocelyne Forget Interview Published on: 26, Dec 2015

Short bio or SYNOPSIS here on writing as your passion.

My name is Jocelyne Forget, author of my first published novel “MacKenzie of Kintail” which is based on factual events, a total immersion into the paranormal that has been qualified as an unfathomable epic and a unique mystical piece of literature.

How long have you been writing and what inspired you to do it seriously?

I have been writing short stories since my tender age but felt enticed to promulgate my work because I had to exude this passion as I would for the paintings I create.

When choosing a name for your characters, what do you consider about them that determines what you finally call them?

The main character of my present novel is actually a short version of my own name, for obvious reasons in this case. As for other characters, people I have encountered throughout my journey in this life are the inspirations and are depicted mainly on their values, sensibilities or arrogance.

Did you have a collection in mind when you were writing them?

I will never have a collection in mind for the simple reason that each book is unique and so many facets need to be explored.

How did you choose which stories to include and in what order?

Considering the fact that I always write knowing the outcome, I scribbles the ending and then develop the story into chapters. One of the great lessons I learned in English literature is that a novel should resembles a hearth beat until it reaches a climax zone which you might refer to as a roller-coaster of emotions.

Do you have a “reader” in mind when you write stories?

Never…I write for the solemn pleasure of illustrating my emotions and setting the mood of the genre.

What do you do to get book reviews? what is the best review you ever got?

Readers do know how important reviews are to “feed” authors. I mainly receive mine personally and transfer them on my personal site. The best review I ever got came from a splendid author: Behcet Kaya, who gave me his honest perception, clearly understood the meaning of my writing and granted me the intense pleasure of posting it on Amazon.

What does the word “story” mean to you?

Transparency is certainly what I have in mind to best describe the word story. Whether I use my pen to write about factual events or imaginative settings, I want readers to feel and see what lingers into my creativity.

What are you working on now?

By request, I am translating my novel in French and two others novels will soon follow, adventures with a pinch of historical values are my drive.

Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

Anytime of the day or night is good, this may sound awkward but I always keep a pen and paper right by my bed because I even write ideas in the middle of the night.

How do you promote your work? How Quotesrain help you in your book promotions and sales, would you like to refer this platform to your author friends?

Different platforms such as my personal site: http://www.mackenzieofkintail.com/
is used to promote my novel worldwide but without a doubt, Quotesrain really had an impact on my sales. The first week I adhered to your site, 350 visitors have been registered and six months later, over 4000!

Would you like to share something with your readers and fan?

Being recognized as a prolific writer has certainly been a great opportunity to embraces causes I believe in so each year, I choose a child caring Foundation and gladly give all my profits to these great causes.
