How long have you been writing and what inspired you to do it seriously?

I have been writing since the age of eight. I got inspired to write my first novel after reading a short story I wrote in high school.

When choosing a name for your characters, what do you consider about them that determines what you finally call them?

I look up names on lists and wait until I find one that best represents the character. Sometimes it changes as I write the novel.

Did you have a collection in mind when you were writing them?

NO. I just ended up tying the stories in via the characters for the Cover to Covers series. I will do the same for my next series hitting in 2016. A dark erotica series, The Corde Noire Series.

How did you choose which stories to include and in what order?

It depends on how they are written and how they tie in. I’m pretty flexible with how is set them up for publishing.

Do you have a “reader” in mind when you write stories?

I write the stories based on the characters and what I like writing about. I never write for the reader; I write for me.

What do you do to get book reviews? what is the best review you ever got?

I have a street team and have established bloggers who know my work and wait to review books. The best review I ever got was with my first book and it has stuck with me. I didn’t realize it at the time, but the reviewer nailed the kind of writer I am. “Alexandrea Weis has a gift for writing characters that are as real as anyone I know.”

What does the word “story” mean to you?

A story is a life. Whether fantasy sci-fi, YA or paranormal. The basic element is the characters. If the characters aren’t interesting the story won’t be either. I equate it to the movies. It’s not the special effects or scenes shot that stick with you, it’s the characters that make a movie live on. Case in point Star Wars. We all have a favorite character, not a favorite planet.

What are you working on now?

I have 4 books for release in 2016. The Corde Noire Series is a dark erotica series. The first book Dark Perception hits 2/22/16 and has a paranormal twist to it. The other books in the series will follow in May, August and November. It will be a tie-in series like Cover to Covers.

Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

I write all day and night. The only structured time I have set aside is to run. I’m a runner and do about 5 miles a day.

How do you promote your work? How Quotesrain help you in your book promotions and sales, would you like to refer this platform to your author friends?

I have a street team, bloggers, and hire tour companies to promote my books. Quotesrain has helped, especially with the Twitter market.

Would you like to share something with your readers and fan?

Just a THANK YOU for always reading and supporting my work. It means a lot to know readers like what you do.
