Hi, Lilian...it's nice to see this. I'm not on this page often, so it's lucky I'm only 3 days late. :-) Very briefly, I have tried almost everything to promote my books. I have run Amazon and Book Bub ads, and I regularly plug my books on social media (Facebook). I do have an email list but I'm not currently producing newsletters. I have lost tons of money on Amazon ads so I'm not currently running those. I'm in a "down" period just now as I'm dealing with family issues that need my attention. I'm hoping to write a third book, still historical fiction but different era (1880s).
I have studied Amazon ads till I'm blue in the face and I'm still not able to make them work for me. I need to get more books out there. My advertising budget is pretty much zero right now. I try to do book signings as often as I can. I have one coming up in a couple of weeks.
Anyway, thanks for asking. Hope all is well with you. --Sally
Thank you so much for such an open reply. It sounds like you’ve truly put in the work and explored all the angles, which says a lot about your dedication. I totally understand being in a quieter period, especially with family needing your focus, that always comes first.
Book signings are a great way to stay visible and connected, and I’m excited to hear you’re working toward a third book. The 1880s is such a rich, intriguing era, I’d love to hear more when the time’s right.
If you ever want to talk shop, swap strategies, or just share the ups and downs of the writing life, I’m here. No pressure, no pitch, just happy to connect.
