In middle school, a friend of mine was writing Harry Potter fan fiction. I thought it was so cool, and loved getting to read her work. Then she started writing an original novel and I thought, "Hey, I could do that!" so I also started writing an original novel. It wasn't a *good* novel, but it did get me started. It's been about thirteen years of writing books, short stories, musicals, plays, and screenplays, and I've loved every second of it.
