Ha'penny Jenny (The Fairies Saga Book 4) Kindle Edition
<>Summer of 1781<> Sweet, naïve — and psychic — pre-adolescent Jenny has just been adopted into a wonderful, yet different family. She knows Mommy and Grannie are from someplace where carriages fly in the air and books have moving pictures, but she doesn’t care if they’re odd – she loves them.
Jenny’s adoring new parents try to educate the semi-feral youngster and protect her from problems that arise from growing up half-wild. However, no amount of love can prevent the chatty young girl from ‘seeing’ what will happen in the future. But Jenny won't stop trying to keep chaos and sadness away from her new family.
**The books in The Fairies Saga are numbered in suggested reading order. Each is a stand-alone story. If you decide you want to know more about a character: where they came from or where they eventually wound up, check out your book's cover model.
THE FAIRIES SAGA ~ Time travelers: fairies, according to the auld folk, people who suddenly showed up in strange clothes, confused about where they were, and without friends or family. Fairies either kept quiet and adapted to their new time period…or went insane.

The characters in this book jump off its pages with a freshness and simplicity that both intrigue and delight the reader. The light-hearted manner in which Evie accepts her quirky existence tickled me. I'm not sure what I would do under similar circumstances.
I highly recommend Ha'penny Jenny and the entire series!

The author is very adept at describing the harsh conditions of the time and the reader feels compassion towards all members of this family. I especially enjoyed the sections of the novella where Evie, the mother is obliged to explain the facts of life to her daughter.
This story gave me a taste of what is to follow. Adventure, drama and tragedy are just around the corner.
