Charlie:
I wasn't the type of woman that a guy like Gavin Reid would usually notice.     Gavin grew up poor, got caught up in crime, and has regrets in his past that were out of his control. They give him nightmares and insomnia. He is a super smart and very successful computer hacker. Now he uses his sleepless nights to browse the deep web, where you can find anything for sale: drugs, people, sex and hits for murder. He tries to "atone" for his past by saving those he can. Charlie is a young scientist with a hit on his life. Gavin means to find him and help.

    Charlie is a gifted scientist. She is a bit of a loner and has self-confidence issues that stem from her family and her past. Gavin shows up one day to tell her (once he realizes Charlie is a woman) that her life is in danger.

    From there, the story takes the fast track, as their steamy attraction grows and they try to stay safe. Can they stay ahead of a killer(s) that want the money for Charlie's death? Is their attraction the adrenalin and circumstances, or will it last in their every day life? Enjoy this book by these talented authors and find out.

    I absolutely loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Gavin and Charlie are the kind of couple that makes you believe in happily every after. Both have lots of garbage in their backgrounds they have pushed aside in order to make successful lives. Neither have many friends and are relatively lonely. Gavin is a whiz on the computer and is using his skills to help those less fortunate. Charlie is a scientist which I love because it shows that women can be smart and sexy at the same time. When Gavin sees Charlie for the first time he can’t believe how she affects him. Charlie thinks Gavin is the most incredible man she has ever seen but doesn’t see how someone like Gavin could even look at her. As the story progresses we see just why relationships with the right person are so important. I really liked the fact that this was more than just the standard love story. If you like love stories that are a bit more in depth then I would encourage you to read this book.

    I loved this book couldn't put it down. Gavin Reid is very good at hacking and he is using his skills to help save people that are being threaten in the black web Like Charlie Wenham. Charlie is a research scientist in a biotech lab and lives with her big dog Ripley, but Gavin is surprise to find out that Charlie is a she not a he. Gavin meets Charlie at the park thanks to her dog but he soon realises that she could be in danger. Gavin takes Charlie to his home because it's safer and tells her that her life is in danger, but that he will do anything to protect her. Both Gavin and Charlie start having feelings for each other, but Gavin doesn't want to act on his feelings because if Charlie finds out about his past she wouldn't want anything to do with him.

    I actually purchased this way back in 2017 !!!! and as we’re all on lockdown at the moment due to this horrible pandemic I decided to go through my kindle to see if there were any books I’d bought and well to put it mildly forgot about . Well surprise surprise there were quite a few this one amongst them . The story is about Gavin who’s a computer nerd and Charlie a science geek . His start in the world of computers was not entirely legal and his time in jail which led him to meet Kane someone who became his best friend . The pair tried to keep their heads down in prison and look after one another determined to do their time and get out but the jail unscathed . A harrowing incident involving them at the mercy of an evil sadistic gang nearly ended both their lives . On their release although mentally scared by the incident their friendship flourished and they became business partners in a tech company . Gavin had made it his mission to try and rid the computer world of The Evil Dark Web it was one such search on it that uncovered a hit in someone called Charlie ,he was surprised to find it was not a man but a gorgeous woman . When Charlie was born her father made no attempt to disguise the fact that he’d wanted a son hence her name ,her father got his wish of a son when her brother was born . Her life changed completely when after an accident when she was 9yrs and her brother 7yrs resulted in her brother drowning and her parents blamed her for not saving her brother understandably their accusations left her emotionally scared . Now years later Charlie is a scientist involved in research , when the pair meet their is an undeniable attraction , but can Gavin work out who wants her dead and will the emotional baggage they both carry from the past stop them from having a HEA ? 😉

    Charlie and Gavin's story is addictive, once you start it you won't want to put it down. The chemistry between them is palpable, the danger is real and their pasts full of pain. You feel their emotions with them, I've spent the whole book laughing, terrified, crying and loving with them.
    These ladies are two of my go to authors when I need a seamlessly steamy read that is spelt well and doesn't have grammatical errors (something that me nuts with some books).
    Yet again the only thing making me put this book down was my job! It seriously gets in the way of my reading! Be warned, once you start it you won't want to put it down! Five star read.
