Gavin is a former Marine now business owner who hasn't had it easy. Life threw him a curve when he had to step up & raise his infant son by himself. However life has been pretty good. It just got better when he realizes he wants to know the school teacher Regina a little bit better. They embarke on a friends to lovers relationship. Problems arise but nothing together they can solve. Enjoyable read with good chemistry in & out if bed. 😍

It was a good quick read. Had a few annoyances. Like Regina used the words whimper a ridiculous amount, like really no other way to express how Gavin made you feel? And why did she assume just because she was black he wouldn't be interested in her and vice vs with Gavin. He expressed he didnt know if she'd like him back because he was of a lighter variety like wtf? This is 2021. Interracial couples have been around for quite some time. But other than that it was ok. No real problems between them although they were doubtful at times that the other could feel the way they did but other than that it was ok.

Gavin and Regina have a story with moments that are definitely sweet, but their chemistry is hot (spicy). Add in a precocious 8 year old and you have a book that is hard to resist. Grant is a man's man who knows what he wants and makes no excuses for it. He has a depth of character that is amazing. No spoilers! Read it and see why I think that about him. Regina is a character that I can relate to in so many ways. One thing that draws a reader to her is not her external beauty (which she has), but her genuine love of what she does and the children she works with. You can't blame them for falling for one another. When you meet these two, you'll want them to find their happily ever after together.
