Catastrophic events have occurred throughout the Pacific Ocean in the region known as the Ring of Fire. Scientists, spiritualists, mystics and naturalists strive to find the causes for the Earth imploding, exploding and cracking itself open from the inside. For every conception, perception and religious theism formulated in the thoughts of man, there is the underlying consideration of what is known as pantheism. This is the doctrine that portrays God as the transcendent reality, in which the material universe and living beings are only manifestations. Native American traditions are based on the idea that the universe and all natural objects within have a spirit or life essence. Consider the possibility that these occurrences are not random acts of nature…that they are the indwelling spirits of the Earth portraying their fury at injustices imposed upon them. What if the only way to save their continuance would be by eliminating the things that are destroying it...namely mankind!

From the Inside Flap

For every conception, perception and religious theism formulated in the thoughts of man, there is the underlying consideration of what is known as pantheism. This is the doctrine that portrays God as the transcendent reality, in which the material universe and living beings are only manifestations.
African and Native American religions view a naturalistic approach to spiritualism, revering the universe and its nature just as they are. This promotes a respect for all human, animal and growing things, and for lifestyles that sustain rather than destroy the environment. There are elements of pantheism in some forms of Christianity and Hinduism as well, in presupposition that the Universe is the totality of everything identical with divinity, or that everything composes an immanent God.

From the Back Cover

Now consider the possibility that these inherent objects, events and occurrences are not random acts of nature...that they are the indwelling spirits of the Earth portraying their fury at injustices imposed upon them. What if the only way to save their continuance would be by eliminating the things that are destroying it? Have you ever wondered about the eradication of the dinosaurs, the monsters who crushed the earth beneath their massive forms, tore down and consumed vast amounts of vegetation and destroyed natural forests? Was their extinction a natural occurrence, or was it an extrication performed by the inanimate inhabitants of the Earth?
Think about how humans have polluted the environment, set off devastating bombs, destroyed forests, lakes, mountains, and drilled deep into the core to mine minerals, gems and extract oil. Wouldn't the inanimate spirits that dwell within consider humans no more than destructive insects? If so, we might be next targeted by the Earth to be exterminated!

Victoria Roberts Siczak was born in upstate New York and lived on the shore of the Oneida River during her childhood. She attended Oswego State and Syracuse University and published many short stories and poems. Victoria moved with her family to Tennessee in 1994. She is a wife, a mother and grandmother and momma to one spoiled beagle/terrier. Victoria is a storyteller with the unique ability to blend science-fiction, fantasy and mystique, with realism, spiritualism, and historical actualizations. Her own intrinsic character portrays a distinctive mystique in her writing and her life. Victoria lives in the southeast and enjoys reading and writing almost as much as she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Her favorite quote is from Actress and Civil Rights Activist Josephine Baker: “The day will come when color means nothing more than the skin tone, when religion is seen uniquely as a way to speak one's soul, and all men are born free. Only understanding this, will enable us to breed love and brotherhood.” “This,” she hopes, “Will one day come to be!”

A cataclysm with teeth that has one foot in the techno-present and one in our pre-Homeric past. What is causing the Earth itself to shake apart, to burst apart, to suck in and spit out all that we thought ensured our future? Great fun, by an intelligent author who does the necessary homework. Recommended for those who understand both past and present and worry about the future of the most destructive species on Earth: humanity.

This fascinating tale really gives you something to think about. The author tackles the concept of a massive earth crack happening in the pacific ocean and the way the different cultures react to the situation. The scientists think they know, but how does their opinion stand up against the spiritual opinions of others. The author takes you on a captivating journey.

This is a fascinating metaphysical book.

The traditions of Native American religion might be the answer to why the earth is imploding.

An interesting and thought provoking read.

What a wonderful read. Siczak has an amazing ability to blend multiple genres together. 'Intrinsic' is part science-fiction, part realist, part spiritualism, and with some historical elements thrown in. Really amazing stuff. This is the epitome of what modern readers want and that traditional publishers don't understand--books that cross genres and don't fit neatly into one category. That describes some of the best books that have ever been written and it certainly describes 'Intrinsic'.

This is a book that weaves a story of tragic yet natural events with spiritual explanations. It’s like two rivers meandering in and out of each other. The natural events of destruction; from tectonic plates shifting and the belief that the earth is cleansing itself is one of the themes of Intrinsic.
The book draws heavily on research in both the realms of the natural as well as the spiritual. In the end it’s up to the reader to believe or not believe. Because that’s ultimately what it comes down to, a matter of faith and as we learn in the book, God comes in many flavors.
It seems that everyone from the Buddhist to Hopi Indian’s have a kind of end of world tale to tell. The wrath of God narrows down to a people purge for harming the land. And it’s because humans and their activity and or neglect of their natural surroundings that a cleansing is needed.
Once the big shake up happens it’s an opportunity to start over with a different attitude about how to use the earth to raise food and build shelter. Intrinsic is an eye opening novel that points out that with intervention it’s never too late to repair the damage and reverse the course. A fast and entertaining read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic 5 Star Read!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 10, 2018
I was drawn to this book by fantastic cover. I knew that it wasn't the type of book which I would normally read, but the description and cover both intrigued me so much, that I couldn't wait to read it.

Even in the Preface I learned about Pantheism, which was an interesting insight. I also learned about Shinto, a traditional Japanese religion, Kabbalah, Native American traditions, and how we all think so differently.

The book starts off talking about a tsunami, and how they hadn't expected the magnitude of it, and the devastating landslides which followed. It then goes on to look how groups such as the American scientific agencies work.

The story discusses areas such as the San Andreas Fault which took me back to my schooldays in the 1980's! Also how at the very top of that, there was another fault line called the Cascadia Subduction Zone.

At one point in the story the California electrical grid went down, and there were comments about how humans had found a way to regulate nature with their technology., which is a scary thought.

Also how the Pacific Ring if Fire is lined by 75% of the earth's active volcanoes. We learned that the ocean's bottom had split and the temperatures of the water had risen so much, that thousands of people were in danger.

Debra Martin and Ian McVey had been grabbed by Captain Arnold and some of his crew, and taken to the submarine just in time. The molten lava surrounded them. The earth seemed to be exploding around them. Ian prayed. The rest of the story you will need to read yourself. I don't want to spoil it for you. But Jamaica is only one of the other places involved in the plot, so there is an array of interesting places and events which will carry you forward into the unknown. The huge gusts of wind were already being in China. Plants were torn from the ground. It could have been down to geoengineering, but it wasn't confirmed.

The beliefs of the different religions through the years, how these affect how people act, and how this may ultimately affect the earth, come to the surface. A possible Biblical apocalypse may be on the horizon too.

The book is literally full of links to explain what things mean. They helped me a lot! It is also full of Wonderful artwork. The descriptions, characters, and twists in every page, make this a book that you will not want to put down.

    A fantastic 5 star read!
