From the Inside Flap

A KISS TO CHANGE THE FATES And then he offered her the berry with his mouth, holding it close until Lianae parted her lips to accept the fruit. Once she did, he pushed the juice and the berry into her mouth.
For a long moment, Lianae forgot to breathe.
His soft, warm tongue explored her lips with barely restrained hunger, brushing softly across her trembling lips and then sliding across the ridge of her teeth. The sensation gave Lianae a strange little quiver.
Warmth filled her breast and slid ... lower.
Never in her life had she felt such a heady, silvery warmth. It flowed into her most private regions like warm honey. The berry melted into the depths of her mouth, and after a moment, he pulled away, and looked her straight in the eyes.
"Lianae," he whispered.
"Yes?"
"Did that seem to you like a mon who thinks you're hideous, lass?"

‘Highland Storm,’ was an incredibly endearing read... it is Keane dún Scoti’s story. He is a grown man now and has left the vale in order to find his way. He comes upon Lianae of Moray; and sensing her need for safety comes to her aid. A decision that leads him down a path he did not envision for himself. This novel was had an amazing storyline and captivating characters. It was a wonderful read!

Keane left his brother Aidan’s clan to go to his sister. He then ended in King David Mac Mhaoil’s troops who remained loyal to Scotia’s crown. Lianae fled the Earl of Moray, William Fitz Duncan of Kinneddar Castle. She was next to marry the Earl but he had killed her sister and she didn’t want to be the next. She made it to the Lilidbrugh ruins where Keane and his followers found her. Later confessing to the King that Keane had had sex with her and she was with babe the King made them marry. Through the marriage Keane and she did fall in love and had a son.

I do like this series but this was my least favorite so far. I thought this was only a trilogy so I thought this book would wrap up the story but I was wrong. The next book is due out in 2017. My biggest problem with this book was the fact that the author kept going over previous situations in the last two books. I don't mind an author summarizing the previous book but not continuing to summarize throughout the book every time old characters were reintroduced. This is book 3 so the readers should have read the previous 2 books, so the author shouldn't feel the need to bring up old plots and explanations that I have already read. I just felt it dragged the story down and caused me to start skimming which I don't normally do. With that being said, I will continue the series by reading the next book since I really enjoyed the first 2 books of this series.

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 1, 2016
I have read all of the books in this and the highland bride series and really enjoyed them, but I'm afraid this one didn't do it for me. If you haven't read the other books, then you may enjoy this one, but for me it felt like more than half of the book was used to revisit what happened in the previous books, so I couldn't get into Keane's story. Very disappointed, and probably won't bother with anymore in the series.
