Desperation is a story about Colt Fargo, the owner of Club Wicked Cove, and Ceejay Powell, a woman driven by her past to join the lifestyle in an effort to find absolution for her guilt.

Colt happens upon Lady Silver involved in a scene that contravenes the ethics of his club and sets out to find what motivates her to demand such a scene each every time, subsequently giving her an ultimatum that she must accept if she wants to remain a member of the club.

The instantaneous attraction between them sends Colt on a mission to break through the wall to assuage the pain in Ceejay’s heart. In his quest, she finds the key to his guarded past and soon they are both fighting off the siege of emotions that threatens to overwhelm them.

By a quirk of fate, their dark association with the mob soon jeopardizes the solace that Colt Fargo has found in obscurity in the backwater town of Jacksonville, Texas in his quest to escape the life he once led as a reluctant member of a powerful American crime family whose long tentacles are now within striking distance of reeling him back in and squeezing the life out of Ceejay Powell.

This story ends in a cliff-hanger…to continue in book 2, Desperation: Colt’s Acquittal.

What an amazing read this book was. I loved the characters in this story. It was a hot read, and left you wondering what was going to happen to Ceejay, since she was the target throughout the book.
Ceejay was left for dead but thankfully Nolan found her and now her dom is out for justice or revenge. Who knows right now. You have to read book 2.

I started with this book as I LOVED Club Alpha Cove and needed more, but OMG did this series blow that out of the water. I started with book 1 and thought I had book 2 all mapped out, but I was so wrong, this series took me on a roller coaster ride, I felt so many different emotions, and different circumstances it was mind boggling. I would advise that if you cannot handle dark emotional and physical abuse, this is not the series for you, but if you love gritty books that leave you needing to know more this series is perfect. I loved Ceejay from the start and loved/hated/love Colt too. I won't give too much away but if I was you I would make sure you had the whole series before starting, as I finished the whole lot in less than a week. I couldn't tell you who was my favourite as they all were. Thank you Linzi Basset for an emotional escape from reality, a few sleepless nights and a really enjoyable series, sorry I couldn't just talk about book 1 but it would be an injustice as they were all so good, and absolutely fantastic as a whole.

He becomes her D, their relationship progresses, but her past catches up with her and comes along with his past, so they end up entangled in a complicated web without even knowing it beforehand. Her past is very, very sad. His is unexpected to a certain extent.The book ends in a cliffhanger.

The start to this series is an emotional rollercoaster for two people who just want to live the lives they created for themselves. All of the outside interferences prevent this from happening.
In the end, a new chapter in their lives is set up for readers to be pulled into the world of crime, mafia, and Club Wicked.
