    J S Scott is one of my top favorite authors and the Walker Brothers series is starting off great. This is the story of Trace Walker, oldest of three sons and CEO of the family business. Trace became the head of the company at the age of twenty-one when his father, stepmother Karen and youngest brother were in a fatal airplane crash with only Dane, the youngest son surviving with life threatening burn injuries. Trace took over the business which has made Trace, Sebastian and Dane billionaires and also has always been way to serious as he feels the weight of the family rests on his shoulders. Eva Morales comes to Trace asking for a job and is given a "special job" that he needs for a brief time that will pay very well and have a full time job elsewhere in the company at the end. Eva also has had a very rough childhood as well her early years of adult life and has some very big secrets that she must share with Trace. Eva can be described as very beautiful, intelligent, a great cook, loyal, loving, incredibly honest and charismatic. Trace can be described as handsome, autocratic, possessive, controlling, self controlled, and closed down with people. This is a great story about two people who share incredibly bleak pasts that are so right for each other and the hotness level between them is off the charts. Trace's ex comes into play also and she is a complete b#tch. Great start to a new series and I have already purchased the second book which is Sebastian's story and I am looking forward to reading it. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a good HEA with a hot alpha and beautiful and intelligent young woman.

    First book in Walker brother series is hot and captivating!

    Trace Walker is the eldest of the three Walker brothers and has to take over the family business when his father and new step mother die in a plane crash. He had always been groomed for this, but not this young or this way, without his father by his side to guide and advise him.

    Eva Morales lost her dad at a young age and her mother wasn't much more than a person who provided the bare necessities until she turned 18. After that Eva was on her own trying to survive.

    It was more than fate that these two would meet as Eva sought Trace out because she desperately needed a job. She was hoping for a permanent job at one of their resorts but that wasn't what Trace had in mind.

    I'm just basing the 5 stars on The Walker Brothers Book 1; I do own the remainder of the books, previously purchased and enjoyed them too. I love Sam and Simon Hudson and enjoyed re-reading them again. I went as far as reading Max Hamilton's story as well again.

    I really enjoyed this book, both Trace and Eva, the hero and heroine were perfectly detailed, past and present and felt not just told about. Their flirtatious banter was fun, hers was guarded, rightfully so, but he kept picking at that iceberg until there was none. From their first meeting I was drawn in. The sweet possessive soul Trace had but wouldn't display due to his past but when it blossomed it was heartfelt, gentle and beautiful. The story, how it all unfolded? It was unexpected, heart breaking and left me to wonder how often it happens in our judicial system? Trace's reaction, what he did for her...a true hero! He's a class act. Incredible the lengths he went to for Eva. I love how he had no control when it came to Eva yet his entire life and empire he controlled meticulously and then some. His inner monologue about her always making him hard and how she drives him crazy was such fun. Eva, was strong, smart, so resilient, independent, forgiving, selfless, loyal, outspoken, defiant and so beautiful all around. Her culinary skills were a plus. She had no problem sacrificing everything and everyone she loved with Britney's threat, put everyone first before herself to save them from permanent personal humiliation and media disaster. She was most certainly not weak and no ones door mat!

    The brothers I loved too and can't wait for their stories. Sebastian, a little rough around the edges but given the background it's understandable and Dean I hope he finds an incredible woman.

    Cliffhanger, no. Cheating, no. Good story, yes. Felt and not just told, yes. HEA, yes. I was not asked to write this review nor am I a friend of the author. This is my honest review.

    When Drake's father was killed in a plane crash he took control of the family business. He was just out of college and eldest of the three brothers.The youngest brother Dane was in the plane but survived with serious injuries that left him scared. Drake felt responsible for his younger brothers and tries to step in for their father. As each brother delt with their loss they drifted apart. Drake has convinced them to come to Denver for Christmas hoping to reconcile. Dane is now with a woman Drake has dated who is a viper. He feels he needs someone to be a buffer to keep her away from him while she is there with his brother Dane. Eva comes to him wanting a job and he hires her to pretend to be his fiance. The attraction is there but he has no idea how she is going to affect his life.

    Drake, Sebastian and Dane are good characters and I was happy to see them drawing closer at the end. Eva is a very strong woman who has endured horrible things because of her mother. I was touched by her story and her resilience. She and Drake have a tumultuous relationship that could have been harmed by someone trying to destroy Eva but in the end the happily ever after we wanted occurs.

    I was invested in Drake and Eva as the story held my attention throughout. They both has been through a lot and being together allowed them to let go of the past.

    Trace meets Eva and she is poor and out of work. Trace offers her a job and she takes it. Both Trace, who is rich and Eva, who is poor and has been in prison, but they both have very sad backgrounds, especially Eva. They both cared for each other and they become close. Trace does a lot of things to make Eva happy and they fall in love. A good first book and looking forward to reading about Sebastian.
