    Book 6 in the Soul Savers series. I read the books a couple of years ago so I re-read all of them before reading this one. It was amazing and I spent all day reading it. Hated the cliffhanger type ending. A pet peeve of mine. Books should be complete stories, not parts of a whole. Kristie Cook writes so well I can forgive it in this case. I can't wait for the final installment to be released in about 3 weeks.

    Alexis is our heroine and she's a member of the Amadis - a group of people dedicated to saving the souls of folks who have gone over to the dark side. They can be saved as long as there is any hope left in them and they want to be converted to good. Most of these folks are supernatural beings - were's, vampires, and warlocks. Many were turned or created against their will, some chose it because they were misguided into believing it would be "cool" or make them strong. Some are descendants born to these converted parents. Alexis is the last of her kind - daughters descended from the original Amadis daughter - a child born to a human mother and angel father. On the opposite side are the sons born to these women who are cursed to become evil - inevitably summoned to serve under satan becoming one of the Daemoni. Alexis' father, or sperm donor as she calls him, is Lucas - leader of the Daemoni. He is trying to take over the world and he's succeeding. Lucas has connections in high places and thanks to him the world believes the Amadis are the "bad guys". Alexis is married to Tristan, her true soul mate and they have a son, Dorian. She's fighting to save her son from becoming one of the summoned and to build an Amadis army, saving one soul at a time. She's fighting for her life and the lives of the Amadis. She's fighting to save humanity - and she's running out of time. Which side will win in this epic good versus evil saga?

    Word of warning-- you better have the 7th/last book in this series on hand cause this ends in a very high cliffhanger. All hell has literately broken out on earth from US to London to Australia and everywhere else from there. Alexis and her good guys have to find a way to stop the unstoppable it seams. In this book Alexis is so full of doubt that she will fail to save her people, her son and stopping Lucas that she breaks down a lot. Now with hell on earth Alexis and her trusted family/friends are on the run from their island to find the men that are controlling the 'super soldiers' and remove the stones that Lucas and his pet sorceress placed in the summoned men and their offspring to finish out Armageddon that Lucas want and will see to the end.

    Soul Savers by Kristie Cook is, by far, my favorite book series - ever. Torment, Book 6 in this incredible series, does not disappoint. I'll admit, this book is definitely named appropriately. Not only does it perfectly describe what happens in the book, it also perfectly describes the way it made me feel from start to finish! This book takes readers on an emotional roller coaster like I've never experienced before and then, once you think you know what's going to happen? Think again because the freaking UNthinkable happens!

    Now that I've finished Torment, waiting for Book Seven (Faith) is proving to be it's own torment! I am so not ready to say goodbye to this incredible series but at the same time, I am DYING to find out what happens next!! 5 hearts for this ridiculously incredible work of art!

    I'm a huge fan of Kristie Cook's books. This is by far the best book in the series to date. I waited forever for this book to come out and it was well worth the wait. The suspense left my emotions all over the place. There are funny parts but then it gets really serious fast. I couldn't believe the ending. Had to read it over twice. The most gut retching cliffhanger I have ever read in a book. I'm counting the days till the final book to come out. The last book can go whichever way now because Kristie Cook's writing is unpredictable. I refuse to read anymore books till the 7th book comes out. The ending plays over continuously in my mind. I pray the last book ties everything together with a brilliant ending, making it one of the best fantasy series written!

    Torment, what a perfect name for a perfect book. Tormented this is exactly how I felt after reading that ending. My love for these books grows every time I turn a page. Kristie your writing skills and imagination astound me. For anyone that hasn't read this series, DO, it's a series you will re-read again and again. The characters in this book have owned me in a way I never thought possible, I'm not one for routing for a book character, but that's exactly what I'm doing when a fight scene happens. Well done on another brilliant book kristie, I can't wait for the last book, but also do not want it to happen, I don't want to say goodbye.
