Falling for Zoe (The Camerons of Tide's Way Book 1) Kindle Edition
Jake Cameron won't risk hurting his best friend by admitting he loves her.
Little does he know . . . that's what hurts her the most.
Zoe Callahan, pregnant with the child her ex-boyfriend doesn't want, adores her ramshackle new home in the seaside town of Tide's Way, North Carolina. When she meets handsome Jake Cameron, her next-door neighbor who offers some fixer-upper help, her heart goes out to him instantly. He's the doting dad to three daughters and the kind caretaker to a mom-in-law with early Alzheimer's.
Jake is equally smitten with Zoe. But Jake, a contractor and volunteer firefighter from a close-knit family of brothers and a sister, won't risk a romance that could disrupt his family after his ex-wife nearly destroyed it.
Despite Jake's efforts to hide his feelings, he and Zoe quickly form an unbreakable bond. Zoe discovers love hasn't given up on her, even if the father of her unborn child did. Now she just needs to figure out why Jake is so determined not to let the heady attraction that sizzles between them turn into something more than friendship.
Then disaster strikes, and Jake is Zoe's rescuer. He already has her heart, but now, in spite of the rift that comes between them, she must trust him with her life and the life of her baby. And Jake must trust himself.

Zoe Callahan was the oldest in the family and had pretty much raised her younger siblings alone after her mom dies, her father was always working. Now it looked as though she would be raising daughter the same way because her ex-boyfriend didn't want anything to do with her or the baby. Moving out on her own, going against her father's wishes of keeping the baby and using her own money to buy a house was scary but at least her new neighbor seemed really nice not to mention easy on the eyes but what will he think of her when he finds out that she's pregnant and unwed?
Jake Cameron was a single Dad of three girls, a teenage daughter and twin four year olds. He also lived with his ex- mother in law so he had a house full of females. The last thing they he needed was one more to throw into the mix but he couldn't help but offer his help to his new neighbor Zoe. The house that she bought had been vacant for a while and it needed a lot of work. As much as he liked her looks and her personality though, he was determined to not get involved because the last thing that he needed because he wasn't willing to take the risk. His ex-wife had really done a number on him and his girls and he just wasn't willing to take that risk again.
This was the first book in the Camerons of Tide's Way Series. A large close nit family that lives in a small seaside town. I had first come across this series when I was given book three as an ARC from Netgalley and fell in love with the characters so I went back and purchased the other books that I had missed and let me tell you, I am so happy that I did. Ms. Taylor's writing style is great, the story line was interesting and believable and I just loved the characters. This will defiantly be one of those series that I follow through to the end.

I felt sure that I knew how everything would turn out, but had to finish the book to make sure.
