Tracker (Legend of the Silver Hunter Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 30 ratings

Once upon a time there was Beauty and there was the Beast. The spinners of tales would have you believe these two fell in love and lived happily ever after.

The spinners lied!

The Beast was a shifter and Beauty became a huntress and founded a long line of huntresses aided by the power of silver magic.

Kieran Belle is a descendant of the House of Beauty and a tracker who longs to live a life free of killing shifters. Aided by his father he escapes to college in Little Rock, Arkansas where he meets the boy of his dreams, Corwin Cooper.

Corwin Cooper is a descendant of a clan of shifters, who has never shifted himself. Having finally decided to go to college, Corwin arrives and meets the mate his inner wolf cries out to claim for his own in Kieran Belle.

Ancient prophecy says Kieran is destined to become the legendary Silver Hunter. Dark forces seek to derail prophecy and end the House of Beauty. Can a child of the shifter-hunting House of Beauty and a descendant of shifters find love and happiness or will dark forces and opposing heritage tear them apart?

I would recommend everyone read this book. It's a beautifully written book loosely based on the fairy tale we all know and love. Not many books touch my heart like Cory and Kieran's story so far. The only negatives I can put down is the end came too soon and I really need the next book.

This tale has potential but I just didn't really get into it. Maybe the author is trying to cram too many separate themes into a novella. Beauty and the beast - werewolves - various types of magics - college -

I am sure anyone who adores urban fantasy, or who is a gay guy, might find this a lot more fun than I did. The author has clearly worked hard at plotting, and developing his magic background.

The book contains strong language, adult scenes, violence.
I downloaded an ARC from Instafreebie. This is an unbiased review.

Wow, this was an awesome start to what looks to be an outstanding epic fantasy romance. Kieran, of the bloodline of Beauty, and Cory, of the bloodline of Beast, are fated true mates. This is a problem that they will have to fight and suffer through. Their families are causing big problems especially since they have been warring each other for eons. At first thought, it seemed to be a new twist on Beauty & The Beast, but when you really look this seems more of a Romeo and Juliette story.I really loved the action and the battles against evil minions, evil relatives and the expectations of family traditions. I really enjoyed the twists about Beauty and the way her family story has changed through time. Loved it! As much as I loved this story, gave it a 4-star rating in spite of the serious deficit in editing. I hope when the next book in this series comes out that editing issue will be rectified. Although I'll probably read it anyway and flinch. This is my first read of Kethric Wilcox but will be looking for more from this talented story-teller.

I received this book as a gift, and loved it so much I want others to find and enjoy it as well. The story is complex, as are the characters. It's well told, and while there are a few typos, they don't detract from the story. I don't give spoilers, so if you want more than what's in the description, I recommend you purchase it and read for yourself. It's a wonderful read, and I can't wait to finish the story with books 2 & 3...Thank you for a delightful afternoon, Kethric...I will be reading more!

What an interesting spin on the fairy tale of The Beauty and the Beast. Kieran Belle is of the bloodline of the House of Beauty and Cory is of the bloodline of the beast. These men have an up hill battle in front of them. They are fated mates and they will have interference from family members. There are mages, magical spells shifters, and hunters. Many twists and turns have kept me on the edge of my seat. This is a very unique story that was very well written. I look forward to reading the second in the series.

I normally avoid stories that take cherished tales and alters them. This story had one strike against it due to that. But the fast paced action, the well crafter plot lines and suspense overcame my reservations on the fictional foundation of the world of the main character.

The genre of LGBT friendly romance isn't for everyone. The sex scenes were used sparingly and not in a gratuitous way.

I found myself hating the villains, and cheering with each encounter that left them defeated. Also, I was often trying to figure out how the subplots would play out in the next installment of the series. The book was well crafted and worked well at entertaining me.

The author shows promise and has the bones here of what could be a good plot and decent book, but the writing was often stilted, with awkward prosody, and the story came off as juvenile, which I suppose is exactly what the protags are since they're college-aged, but even the remaining characters were portrayed in a rather immature and simplistic way
