Embracing Destiny Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 298 ratings

1871 Philadelphia, five-year old Randa was snatched from the loving arms of her Seminole mother by her evil father and left in the care of her prominent grandfather. Life for Randa in the household was initially very hard since she was the shame and dirty little secret of the elite black Brewster family. Suddenly her circumstances changed when her grandfather took her under his wing and molded her into a strong, intelligent young woman. After the death of her beloved grandfather, Randa moved to Tullahassee, Oklahoma with the desire to locate the mother from whom she was taken. Instead, she found a new life. A journey that turned her world around and around and upside down.

Black Seminole Sutter Bruner was dynamic, jaw-dropping handsome, and an educated lawyer; however, he preferred tracking and upholding the law. His encounter with the beautiful Randa Brewster changed his entire outlook on the direction he wanted his life to take when she somehow wrangled her way into his heart with all of her sass, hard-headiness, and compassion.

The melodramatic novel she created Just To Be Loved led Vivian Rose Lee on the journey of creating stories of life, love, and happily ever after, which opened the door for her to start writing about her favorite subjects, love, and happiness. Her writing has plunged into historical romance, romantic suspense, and contemporary romance. She has created true love in her popular Heart and True Love series, suspense, and happily ever after in the popular Brotherhood series, then created the African American Historical Romance, Embracing Destiny Series. What she thought would be a standalone had become, so far, a four-book series with more to come. She has humbly accepted and has been invited to book signings, reading circles, book clubs, zooms, and podcasts. Vivian lives in Vineland, NJ, where she will continue creating the best stories from her heart and imagination. Her motto is You Keep Reading, and I Will Keep Writing.

Hope this is o be of several black/native American historical romance books from "Vivi". I enjoyed it thoroughly as it made me think of one of my favorite authors, Beverly Jenkins. I so much enjoyed the Howard family series and was sceptical about such a different setting; however, the transition was so smooth that I was happily surprised.

My only question is when is the next in the black/Seminole series?

This book was amazing. It reminded me of Beverly Jenkins who also writes historical romance. This story tugged at my heart strings and shows how resilient a person can be. Randa was faced with hardships from the start but kept going. There was a destiny carved out for her and no matter who was against her destiny prevailed. In the end she received a love worth more than any amount of money. I was absolutely moved this book, the historical information, the characters. Don't hesitate, just buy it and I PROMISE you will not be disappointed.

Such a wonderful story! I felt like a resident of this all black town. The author did a amazing job describing this town and its residents. I could visualize the town and residents as I read the story. I enjoyed the history between blacks and the American indigenous people.
