- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2018I long have been a fan of Robert Thornhill, and he never disappoints in his books. As usual he takes what is going on in the world and incorporates it into his storyline to make it relevant and entertaining. There was a lot going on in this book and pretty much nonstop action. I did miss his motley crew of sidekicks this time around but Walt hand his brother in law had it all under control. It did make me laugh that the Author itself is mentioned by Walt in this book, and to let the reader know that he also writes Children Books. Very entertaining read and I can't wait to see what will happen next.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2018I am not sure how Robert Thornhill does it but I am so happy he does. This book hits on the Me Too movement and Domestic Violence among other issues. Roberts books always have a great deal of fun humor and a major issue most often one that has been wildly in the news. This book is no different. I think my favorite part of this book is the incorporation of the child's book Puff the Magic Dragon. Growing up in the 60's I had a 45 of this song and loved this story. I LOVE how Robert uses the story in this book. I don't want to say more but read this book and you will be touched and amazed. Way to go Robert another great read or in my case great listen. Which I must say George Kuch does a incredible job of narrating again.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2018Thornhill never disappoints, weaving current Me too.movement into stories of domestic violence and workplace harassment. As usual our septugenerian hero comes to the rescue with his aged cohorts. Thought provoking and satisfying.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2020Once again, Robert Thornhill writes about a severe ongoing problem in society's life, domestic abuse and the consequences for the victims, both women and children. It's no surprise that women often feel trapped in a marriage or a relationship where they are abused, but in this book, we also look at the consequences for the children who are often unwilling witnesses. In this story, Walt and Maggie get involved with an adult child with severe problems as well as two women and their young children. Child abductions by a parent are not the focus of this book, but I hope the author will focus on that aspect in a different story. Harassment in the workplace is another topic lightly touched here. There is nothing humorous about these topics, but the author manages to make the subjects light and everything turns out well in the end. I highly recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2019I have read all of the Lady Justice Series and have enjoyed every one of them. This Lady Justice and the Magic Dragon is no exception. It is another enjoyable read by this talented author.
This book has a magical theme about the famous Puff the Magic Dragon. The story carries this theme throughout as Walt and his fellow comrades strive to help a grown man who is tormented by the deaths of his parents when he was a child, so much so that he has not grown up and faced this tragedy. Walt is also there to help save a mother and her daughter from abuse with the help of Puff the Magic Dragon once again.
There is an undercurrent of comedy running through not only this book but all the other books in this series. The author looks at the tough side of life and shares his thoughts and fabulous sense of humor and timing.
The author has created an eclectic and unforgettable group of characters that will capture your heart and make you laugh your head off with their antics. I would highly recommend this whole series if you are looking for a mystery with a comedic side to it.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2018I don't know where to start except to say, read this book. Initially, got it because I liked the description and it was free. I was not prepared for the incredible stories (with documented statistics) I would read about domestic abuse, sexual harassment and problems caused by political knee jerk reactions to opiod overdoses. The senior "crew" were funny and delightful. This book mad me laugh and it made me cry. Looks like I will actually be buying several more books!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2018(Originally posted on Audible.com) The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook with no expectation of a review. This book touches on some very difficult issues that sadly are all too common today. I listened to this book in one sitting. I kept thinking "I'll just finish this chapter" but when I got to the end of that chapter I wanted to know what happened next. That's been true with every book in this series LOL. Needless to say, it's been the cause of many sleepless (but oh so enjoyable) nights.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrinklies and dragons are a strange, worthwhile mixture. Highly recommended
I have seen several of these offered in the past as freebies, and I was intrigued by the title, so I took a punt and read it. I confess I got it as a freebie, but once I got started (6th of April) I found it difficult to put it down. I tend to read in bed and this kept me going for several days, although I finished up reading to the end despite needing my beauty sleep ;>)
After I finished, it lingered in my mine and I eventually went back and re-read it to pick up some of the details that had slipped by me from reading late at night, and it was a satisfying re-visit.
I suspect that I am going to have to buy some of the other 27 books in the series - they could well be worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
Well it looks like Mr. Thornhill has written another Lady Justice hit. Every Lady Justice book I've read has been very entertaining. The characters gel together very well and the storylines are always great.
