Different Sides (Epic LitRPG Adventure - Book 7) (Fayroll) Kindle Edition
- Why should it always be me?
Neither hidden mythical quests, nor supernatural forces of Biblical proportion pass by Harriton. The new government-imposed “social” quests are no exception. Right after returning from the Archipelago, our cavalier hero has no option other than accepting this quest. Thus, he must choose: victory or death, rebirth or oblivion. Hagen raises the Clan Blade above his head as a symbol of power and takes up the duties of a clan leader.
Meanwhile, the forthcoming war in the Borderlands is not the only scourge of the Fayroll world. Ancient evil penetrates the continent and takes rusty ancient swords in its deadly grip. The horrified developers of the game understand that they have made a terrible mistake, which will end in bloodshed. Undead creep out of their cemeteries, evil spirits unite into hordes, the Holy Order is in a state of siege… and how did Harriton get involved in all this mess?
"Fayroll: Different sides" is the seventh book of the super-popular LitRPG and Gamelit series about adventures in the virtual world. Events of the last part continue to gain momentum. The Big Game is getting more serious and affects not only the virtual world... meeting old friends from past adventures and finding new, highly controversial acquaintances, the main character makes his way through the jungle of questions in search of the right answer. Intrigue, new actors, and fractions with their own interests are dragged into a tight knot that has to be cut by the main hero — a usual journalist who never wanted any glory or adventures. However, it is not up to him to decide — there is no way back, not anymore.

About the author

At times, he feels he was meant to be an innkeeper someplace on the outskirts of Bree in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. However, in real life, Andrey Vasilyev is a much-celebrated Moscow-based author, as well as one of the originators of the relatively new, yet insanely popular genre that blends cyberpunk, classic sci-fi, and fantasy.
By his own admission, Andrey started writing in his late 30's and only "because there was nothing handy to read," but after his first two urban fantasy books gained nearly instant acclaim, he had to give serious thought to changing his current banking career to that of a professional writer. Fortunately for his readers, who had voted his debut young adult novel More Than a Game the "Best Book of the Year 2014," he never looked back after that.
Over the next few years, he continued work on his now-bestselling Fayroll series, maintained a blog, and participated in various multiple-author projects.
When he is not writing his intricately crafted, action-packed stories, he enjoys playing online shooter games with his son or rummaging through second-hand bookshops and bookstalls in search of rare editions or personal favorites.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2023The whole series is bright, energetic, and just wholly enjoyable. Definitely recommend especially for those who love to game. GG
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2019The book rolls along decently. First page starts a new quest that gets lost instantly. Maybe it will be picked up in the next book. This is the first one to have a Character List even if it is about 70 percent right and missing about half of the primary antagonists. I am still waiting for the Wild Hunt to come back. Kif had the use of them for the Former and then they disappeared to be replaced by a smaller weaker group.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2018The book is good, not as good as others, but definitely fleshes out more of the world of fayroll and is more focused on event going on around the main character that about the main himself. A great setup book and i look forward to all the action that is to come.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2018I really love this series. It is not heavy with RPG information but I do like the main character and am very interested to see where the story goes. I also like the fact that it is set somewhere other than the US
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2018Our MC, Kif is once again in the midst of political shenanigans in Fayroll, and information/business dealings in reality.
Kif stumbles his way through a couple of quests, gets played in Fayroll & real life, but somehow seems to come out, if not ahead, at least not having lost anything.
So, now we have a war brewing in the Borderlands, and Baron Samedi having been summoned, with Kif on multiple chain quests.
Good book and looking forward to the next instalment
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2020This was a very good book. I'm glad that I read it. You should give it a try.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2018Organized chaos, scenes that appear to be filled rather than adding to the story, quests accepted and quests finished but little progress along the main quest, and many real life scenes that may or may not have future consequence.
Much of this book is setup for future books. Much is also a bit confusing, loading our MC Kif with numerous "social quests" with results "to be continued".
It's difficult to get a feeling for where the series is going. Much of this book focuses on what appears to be side quests, real life dangers, and what costumes will be worn at the New Year's party.
The game world is becoming Kif's life with reality becoming almost secondary. The next book should conclude many open quests, and should include the New Year's party and the meeting with his girlfriend's parents, but may not move us very far forward in the main story, a story which is getting more hazy with every new book...
- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2018I loved the book. I binge read just about half the book the day it came out. I really love the series and can't wait for the next book!! Keep up the great work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
After reading all the books so far in this series I'm blown away by how much I'm thoroughly enjoying the journey of Kif/Hagen. I find myself wishing that gaming had advanced enough so that I could join him on his adventures. Fantastic story telling, leaving you wanting to find out what's coming next

3.0 out of 5 stars Is this half a book?
The story was enjoyable in the main but my criticisms are the book ended quite abruptly and was of far less length than other editions considering the price. Then add onto the back of the book the bad habit a lot of authors have started doing and listing every character in the book as a filler to get it over 300 pages?
It just felt like it had been split into two and then fluffed out so the author or publishing house can charge for 2 books.
Overall the series is good but if your going to publish a short book then the price should reflect that.
