Prima Donna (Friends First Book 2) Kindle Edition
Even with her business closing and her mom’s stack of medical bills getting higher, Regan isn’t about to admit she’s anything other than that four-letter F-word: fine. She’s never relied on anyone else to help her out, and she’s not about to start now, no matter how desperate things get. All she needs is a job - any job - to get her back on her feet; she doesn’t have the time or energy to focus on anything else, especially a relationship that needs attention and nurturing. There couldn’t possibly be a worse time for someone like Carter Scott to start nudging his way into her life and distracting her with his sexy smile and gentle disarming ways. But have mercy, what that man’s touch does to her!
Carter doesn’t do long-term anything. His scars run too deep for him to believe in any kind of forever, and because of that, because he knows time is a finite fleeting thing, he does what he wants to make himself happy. This thing with Regan is only supposed to be one night, but she’s hiding some pretty deep scars of her own, too, and now all he can think about is what he can do to make her life a little easier.
By accepting Carter’s help, Regan will have to rip open old scars and leave herself vulnerable, something she swore she’d never do. No one understands this better than Carter, and even though it’ll be more pain than he’s ever felt before, he also understands that loving Regan may well mean letting her go.

About the author

USA Today bestselling author LAURA DREWRY writes heartfelt and fun contemporary and historical romance novels with flawed characters readers can relate to.
She has lived all but eight years of her life in beautiful southwestern British Columbia with the Pacific Ocean on one side of her and mountain range after mountain range on the other. The time in between was spent in the Canadian north (also beautiful) where she learned important life lessons like how to keep bananas from freezing between the grocery store and the car when it’s -40 outside, and the uber-importance of a good mosquito magnet in the back yard.
She loves old tattered books, movies, music, the New York Yankees, and cheesecake. Lots of cheesecake.

Prima Donna was a very sweet love story with an immense amount of heart in it. I loved that this was a little different type of love story than what I have read this year. There wasn’t an instant love, there wasn’t any over the top drama of the relationship and there wasn’t a rich gazillionaire.
I loved the way that the further you read the book the more you discovered about each of the characters. Another thing I enjoyed was that even though this was part of a series you could definitely read it as a standalone book. I just adored both Regan and Carter, they were genuine people who cared about putting other peoples happiness before their own. By the end of the book I was ecstatic that things really worked out for them.

I have enjoyed all of Laura Drewry's books, but these last two (Playne Jane and Prima Donna) are just soooo good! If you haven't read this author. I think you should!!

OK, I was in love in the first few pages. My husband asked me why, and it was ALL about the characters. How could you not love Regan and Carter? Seriously, from page 1 to the end, I laughed, I cried, I smiled like a loon, my heart hurt....it was great. I LOVE those books where you finish with a big stupid grin on your face.
I actually think I even loved this one more than Plain Jayne. I didn't reread that one before starting this one, and that's actually killing my inner self, even though they can be read completely alone. It's just that BOTH MC's were da bomb. I mean, Regan was sassy and strong, yet vulnerable and somewhat damaged. And Carter....well, I did not expect his back story, but I was already in love with his rakish self from Plain Jayne. This book just solidified it and showed me who he was deep inside. And the chemistry was FANTASTIC. Seriously, holy wow.
And even with all the conflicts and obstacles they had to make it through, it never felt drawn out or unnecessary to their story you know? And I loved the way it ended. It had the perfect resolution for the characters that stayed true to who they were.
So yeah....my being Canadian did NOT influence me in this book, though it's always fun to recognize things in a book based in my country. This was just a straight up fabulous romance with genuinely awesome characters. Can't wait for more from Ms. Drewry.

Regan has friends that loves, Jayne, Ellie & Maya.
Carter Scott starts to like Regan. And he rides a Harley Davidson. Carter asked Regan get on his Harley Davidson.
He bought her a pink Helmut to wear. She never rode Harley Davidson before. Regan sat behind Carter, holding him very tight.
Carter took Regan to St. Mark's Hospital. He had a date with Hazel (she cancer). Hazel has beautiful blue eyes. She used towel with some paint on it, to around Carter's neck, to cut his hair. Hazel is about 4 years old. Hazel used kid scissors to cut his hair.
He took Regan to meet Emily, hitting down button in elevator.
She met Emily. And Carter told her he had testicular cancer, he was 14 years old. This hospital does not updated equipment.
Because the Government would allow her Mom to take generic drugs. Regan decided to work with Griffin Carr (famous actor).
But Regan missed her friends.
Too many characters in this good book to list!
But hope you will read this good book to end.
I hope you will enjoy this book as as I did!
