- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2014This book is part of 'The Billionaire's Obsession' series of books. Although the book can be read on its own, I would recommend that you start with the boxed set and then move on from there. You won't regret it!
I have read all of the books and have enjoyed each and every one! Ms. Scott has a way of writing that simply draws you in.
Although there are a few constants in the series such as the strong, sexy billionaire alpha-male, there is never a dull moment here!
Yes, our alpha-males are a bit obsessive but they are also extremely loving and caring. The books also have the requisite steamy sex scenes but there's also a story here too, that grabs a hold of you from page one and doesn't let go until the very last word.
After having read the other books, I couldn't wait for this book to come out, and although I wanted to go slow, I couldn't put it down! And...although I was sure that there would be another story on the way (Travis's story has yet to be told!), I so hated for it to end because I know it will be a bit of a wait until the next one!
This is Kade's story.Kade is an ex-quarterback who has to give up the sport he loves because of an injury to his leg. Football was kade's life, his reason for being, and without it he's a little lost.
Needing something to do, and with everything under control at the company that he and his brother Travis run, Kade offers to set out on a mission for his friend and brother-in-law Max, to find a sister he never knew he had.
Asha Paritala is a young woman of mixed heritage who has lived a very sheltered yet troubled life, but meeting Kade is going to change all that in so many ways. He will be the catalyst for change, but she will save him right back.
Lust, love and happy endings! What more can one ask for!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2015First I must say, since I never write this in my reviews, that I don’t ever write a synopsis of the plot; everyone already did a great job at that.
This story is so far, the best one I’ve read in the series. What I enjoy about J.S. Scott’s romances is that she shows normalcy in her characters. Everyone has many insecurities, confidence issues and demons that they’re dealing with, which makes us all human. Everyone has baggage, regardless of what it is, but it’s always a choice to recognize it and do something about it or not. J.S. Scott shows this in all of her characters when they are falling in love, which I personally think is reality. To truly fall in genuine, true love; people recognize their demons and they deal with them, accept who they are and/or change for the better because they the other person brings something new and unexpected that makes life better. This is why I enjoy her stories; the inner battle of her characters is something that I can relate to.
On to the story itself! Kade is my favorite male character in the entire series. I felt like I knew him the best. He has insecurities that just makes a reader empathize and love him. He is the most selfless person in the entire series and it was refreshing. He is the least alpha out of all the males in the series because he has too much love and he cares for everyone too much to be a caveman all the time. He always wanted to hear everyone speak before over reacting and gave everyone he loved his time and efforts. He put everyone else’s needs above his own. I relished getting to know him.
Asha was a great match for Kade. This pair is my favorite! Asha had a lot of issues to overcome in the story because she had a horrible childhood and was sold off in marriage to a very abusive husband. I thought J.S. Scott’s character development in Asha was good. I could see the weak woman that she was in the beginning and then she slowly started finding herself. Her dialogue, thoughts and actions were well written to her progression of her confidence, which I greatly appreciated. Most of it was very believable. The only parts that I didn’t understand were when Kade or someone would yell or hit something in the room out of anger and she didn’t have any reaction. For a woman who has been physically abused; I would think there would be some sort of anxiety that would show.
I enjoyed watching their love grow. I liked that Kade is such a selfless person that he always gave her the chance to express herself in any way in every event/discussion. This is turn, helped Asha slowly develop her own self worth and gave her a new meaning in life. This is the story of a coming of age romance for both people and it was delightful.
I didn’t give it full stars because there were some grammatical errors and I think the author may have been writing her paranormal romances during this book. Or maybe she was thinking about them when writing because there were words in this book that are used in her paranormal series that aren’t normally in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2025I love the the billionaire series. Kades love story is wonderful. This book keeps you reading. I can’t wait to read the next one about Travis.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2015I really enjoyed this book. It is part of a series, but it reads as a standalone. This is the first book that I have read in this series, but I will be reading the other books.
Kade was a pro football player. He had to retire when he hurt his knee in a motorcycle accident. His best friend Max asked Kade to find Asha. Max thinks that Asha is his sister.
Asha was raised in foster care. Her foster parents were awful people. They sold her when she was a young lady. The man she was forced to marry beat her. She got away and divorced him. Each day she is just surviving. She confronts Kade, and asked him why he had been following her? She was sick, and passed out in his arms before she could get answers. When Kade takes her to the hospital they find out she has pneumonia. I loved the way he took care of her, nursing her back to health. I think it was love at first sight.
Asha is not one to take hand outs. She works hard. Kade knew this, so he hired her to paint his home. she is a very talented artist. I loved watching the relationship grow the longer they were together. It was also touching for Asha to meet a brother, and sister that she had no idea that she had. I love books like this.
this book is a winner. Asha survived being abused, found her family, and feel in love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five big stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Love this series ❤️
I adore this series. As well, with each book you get to continue reading, about the previous couple as each couple in each book are either friends or related to the group before. This book is about Mia's brother Kade and Maddies and Max's lost sister Asha. This is one of my favs. Kade is such an interesting alpha male character. Kade is a dominate, alpha male in every sense, yet fiercely protective, kind and patient. Asha has been through the worst life so far and has huge self esteem issues but I love how Kade cares for her. I also love how each book is about the same group but each is so different. There are plenty of twists to keep your interest. I look forward to each step of this journey. I hope JS continues writing as I know I'll never tire of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
This is book five of the Billionaire's Obsession
After four dreadful years of working for “the billionaire boss from hell” Ally Caldwell thinks she now has her life right on track. Ally's fiancé is finished with dental school and more than ready to go to work at a thriving practice. It would finally be Ally's turn to go back to finish her college degree. Unfortunately, Ally's carefully planned future crumbles especially when Ally finds out that her fiancé. The only man she’d nearly killed herself for to help him get through school, has been cheating on her all this. With the wedding looming closer. Ally’s been blindsided and suddenly realized that she’d never even knew the man and who he really was. That she’d been planning to marry. Ally's carefully organized life is turned right upside down. Not even one single thing is turning out the way it was supposed to. Even Ally's boss, who she calls Travis the Tyrant, is starting to act differently around her. This throws Ally into an even more confused and chaotic state of mind. Travis who she’d always counted on to be a jerk. Was now the only guy who actually steps up to try and help Ally to straighten her life out again. Unfortunately, Ally doesn’t much care to much for his high handed, macho and arrogant or his other methods of “helping.” Ally always wanted to hate Travis. It makes Ally's life so much easier to fight with Travis than to admit to the combustible chemistry that is growing between the two of them quickly and strongly. As Ally starts to begin to see more and more of the real Travis. The true Travis beneath his dark façade. Ally can’t seem to resist the dangerous lure and the smoking hot desires of their unlikely attraction.
Meet billionaire Travis Harrison. Travis does everything he possibly can to try and repair the Harrison name. After such a scandal that nearly destroyed his family many many years ago. Travis now makes sure he keeps himself and also his actions in check. Travis's emotions buried under a very thick layer of ice. Only Travis's secretary and constant assistant, Alison Caldwell. That makes Travis comes so close to losing his carefully and serious constructed image. The obstinate Ally keeps shoving Travis closer and closer to the edge of loosing his sanity every single day. When Travis finds out about Ally's fiancé’s betrayal. Travis' protective instincts roar to life inside him. It makes Travis want to ensure that Ally’s never hurt again. The one problem Travis has is…Ally doesn’t want help. To Travis, Ally is the most infuriating woman. Ally does everything she can to push Travis away. Even as the both of them are swept into an undeniable and sparks flying passion that neither Travis or Ally can possibly ignore. Travis finds himself in a ruthless pursuit of something much more. More than what's important and so much more elusive than just a business deal.
Can these two very different, very stubborn people actually be meant to be together?
I love J.S Scott her books are brilliant and i could do with more than 5*s

4.0 out of 5 stars Third book in series
I really like this series, and would give all books a five, but after reading book 3 I'm a bit disappointed that the story is always the same, just different characters........poor girl, really rich guy, she gets sick, he takes her in and gives her a proposition, he spoils her, she doesn't want his money, he's completely obsessed, and she doesn't think she's worthy. I'm really looking forward to book 4, as I love Travis's character, but please let the storyline be a little bit different. Overall the books are good but they need a bit of a mix up.
