Oh dear. I do love Sandi Lynn, and one click buy all her books, frequently not reading the blurb.... so I really didn’t know what I was reading/buying. There were elements I loved about ‘Carter Grayson’ the book, and there were elements I despised about Carter Grayson the man... hence I’m torn...

Like all of her books Sandi is the queen of writing hot, sexy billionaire arrogant, rude alpha’s. Well, Carter Grayson is no exception. Anger had become his best friend. Carter, was mean, disrespectful and unforgiving and almost the entire book Carter was a complete a-hole to everyone. Including Zoey.

Enter Zoey Benson a care nurse who has a gift for caring for the dying. Carter’s younger sister Nora is terminally ill with brain cancer. (Nora is a gem, FYI... such a wonderful character...) This was my favourite part of the book by far... Zoey and Nora were wonderful together and what was even better Zoey took no crap from Carter.

Carter and Zoey went on a road trip as per Nora's wishes... this is a turbulent time throughout the book... there is clearly a connection between Carter and Zoey but everything they say to each other is hurtful and harsh.

In fact even though Carter is hurting I can’t understand why Zoey put up with his desolate, empty, rude butt! So, I’m torn... this story is sad, frustrating, annoying yet it is beautiful & passionate and ultimately put a smile on my face. Somewhere between 3 & 4 Stars depending on your tolerance levels...

I am a huge Sandi Lynn fan and let me tell you, Carter Grayson just made me love her even more. She is the queen of writing hot, sexy billionaire A-holes. Well, Carter Grayson is no exception, only the reason he is one is what made me love him and broke my heart. Get the tissues ready because I cried and cried big ugly tears. Thank goodness for the smoking hot sex and explosive chemistry or I’d be a complete mess. This story is sad, but it is beautiful and passionate and will ultimately put a smile on your face. It is a five-star must read!

I’m a huge fan of Sandi Lynn but Carter Grayson didn’t quiet hit the mark it felt rushed and you didn’t get the instant connection you normally find in Sandi’s books.
From a chance meeting in Starbucks to being his employee to help his dying sister they argued all the way he lives in the past in a dark world and she sees dead people and helps the dying they couldn’t be further apart so throw in the bickering and fighting Carter and Zoey are worlds apart. Promises made on a death bed have pushed together and travelling across the USA.
A millionaire with a HEA as in all Sandis books.

While an interesting storyline I can’t help but get frustrated at the yo-yo emotions - from hate to sex within an incredibly short timespan - lies and aggression and I so many sorry’s. I would have liked to have seen a little more depth and more restraint on Carter’s side. Reads a bit like fast food.

This book is a little different to the chick lit books I usually read. Zoey can talk to the ghosts of dead people. It reminded me a little of "Ghost Whisperer". If that is not a problem for you, you will love this book. Carter is in such a dark place that you will be frustrated with him but in the end the frustration will be worth it. It is a beautiful story.
It was my first Sandi Lynn book and I already ordered more of her books.
