Dear God: Hear My Prayer Kindle Edition
He stood in the pulpit on Sundays waving the same hands that abused her at night. He glorified God with the same mouth he used to chip away her self-esteem, daily. He was a man of God who had turned her away from the same God he told people they needed to serve. He was the man who was supposed to pray for, take care of and eventually love her. Instead, he preyed on, took advantage of, and shattered her heart before it had a chance to truly love someone else.
Now, 14 years and a son later, she finds herself needing God, yet she doesn’t know how to reach Him. She longs for God but isn’t sure He can hear a sinner’s prayer until she starts to say, Dear God, hear my prayer.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2024Thank you for writing such books on the reality of life and especially in the church! This book brings me to looking at Eli’s sons and him not correcting his sons as they defiled the house of God! The Lord is trying to wake up the sleeping church that ignores what’s happening and we don’t take a stand against the sin the leaders either are doing or what they will tolerate! Thank you for being the wonderful writer that is being used of Him to wake us up!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2022“Some people are born evil and they seek to devour and destroy those who believe in God. Some of them are even people who do work in God’s name.”
Meet Pastor James Madison who uses his highly respected position to prey, betray, mislead, and destroy. Just when Jayme thought life couldn’t possibly get any worse than the reoccurring nightmare she’s endured since her early teens, James is hell-bent on reminding her that HE is her gatekeeper.
Layered with heartbreaking abuse, hope, scripture, and shocking plot twists…This story is not for the weak at heart. Nonetheless, underneath the brutal storyline, there are some relatable instances and powerful testimonies.
This is my first time reading this author’s work. While the writing flowed smoothly, the editing oversights were a bit distracting to the read. However, Dear God: Hear My Prayer is a captivating story that will surely stick with you. I look forward to reading more from this author.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2024Excellent writing. Loved the story. Lakisha is an excellent writer that God has truly blessed with the Gift of helping others through her writing. Jayme went through a lot but she became a survivor. I truly believe that God places people in our lives to guide us. May God continue to bless LaKisha in everything she does. Gloria Steele 😁💕
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2018I usually do not rate books I have read, however I give this book more than 5 stars. This book is thus by far the best book I have read. It grasped my attention from beginning til the end. I could not put it down, it had me in tears, with chills all over my body based on the things she went through but God always made a way for her. This book will send anyone over the edge. The only thing I did not like was how she took a self-defense class but did not defend herself when he was beating on her. When James got the best of her that is when the neighbor should of came in. However, it was a good read. Faith, love, hope, and believe.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2023Thank you for sharing this this story with the world. There are so many people who have experienced some type of abuse, and they really need to read this to see that God has never left their side. He was right there. Thank God for all the praying people she came in contact with who helped her. I pray that God continues to protect and cover her and her son. I feel bad for her mother and brother. But her step daddy got just what he deserved.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2018This was a quick read. At times it seemed the pace was quicker than needed with how situations wrapped up. I didnt feel connected with any of the characters as there wasn't much character development or details. This does not include details of the abuse but more insight into the struggle of the characters. I appreciated the bible versus but some of the scenes were a bit unrealistic but i get that its not based on a true story. It was a decent read but not fleshed out enough to have me be emotionally connected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dear God
This book is about real life problems happening in the church and homes. What sad is these Pastors are preaching about sexual abuse and yet they are the main culprit. Good read .
