Abby’s strength and resilience shines through as well as Ethan’s determination.
I don’t think I have read a book from cover to cover without a break.
Barbara McMahon
Abby’s story starts with her in a court room waiting for the verdict, she is feeling sick to her stomach she has been accused of killing a friend of her husband who died in an accident where the man she is accused of killing, the verdict comes in and she is sentenced to life in prison. She looks across the room and noticed one of the DA’s is looking at her, she tells him she is innocent and he just looks at her.
Years later she is working in the yard and one of the guards takes her to meet this man Ethan she is bitter and tells him to leave her alone.
Will he be able to help her? She has trust issues. But without spoiling the story justice does take place.
Good story great characters.

Ethan was part of the prosecuting team that ensured her guilty conviction but he is devastated when he finds out the victim of her crime is not dead but has been spotted alive and well. When he reviews the case he realizes that a huge miscarriage of justice was committed and he works to have Abby found innocent and released.
When she is released from jail he helps her adjust to her new found freedom after having her life and dreams destroyed by this wrongful conviction. What begins as a way to atone for the mistakes of the past becomes much more but will Abby be able to forgive him for the loss she has suffered?
This was an emotional story about both righting the wrongs of the past and making peace with what can’t be changed. Abby’s strength and resilience shines through as well as Ethan’s determination.

Ethan had been the assistant district attorney who had prosecuted Abby. When he found out information that might prove Abby's innocence. He was determined to help free her and pay back the debt he felt to her because of her innocence and unfair conviction. As he tried to help her he began to develop feelings for her and her for him but she was wary because it was hard to trust anyone after what she had been through. Would she ever be able to see the depth of Ethan's feelings for her and recognize those same feelings in herself towards him?
I absolutely loved the beauty of this story. I cried with Abby when everything she had, including her sweet baby girl was taken from her and she was left with no hope at all. I loved how Ethan just kept trying to help her succeed. There was no sex or anything that detracted from the beauty of the story. Wonderfully done!

Ethan was an idealistic young prosecutor just starting out. Something about Abby stuck with him through the years. When a chance comment lead him to investigate & find out that Abby was truly innocent, he was sick at heart. He did everything he could to get her released & started on a new life. Somewhere his feelings began to change & he wasn't operating on guilt.
I loved these two characters! Abby has been broken down & her innocence lost. The decision about her daughter was heart wrenching while it was also the purest decision made of love. Ms. McMahon manages to make the reader fully feel Ethan's guilt & pain even while sympathizing with Abby. As a reader, you would think you needed to support one or the other but you soon realize they are both broken in their own way. The addition of Sam brings back innocent love in its purest sense. He adds that element of unconditional love & acceptance. This story touched my heart!
