This story just keeps getting better and better. This is the story of Evangeline and West. After Even dismisses West, all hell is breaking lose around them. After the attack at her parent's funeral Evan needs to find out who is behind it all. West tries to get information on the Emerson family, the top suspects. His investigations get him captured and tortured.
Another great story in the series. We have a few new people to meet in this story but the whole gang is together again to fight evil. The only difference is Aurellia is pregnant, even though that takes nothing from her fighting spirit. Again, this story made me laugh and cry. As the back characters are building personality the story gets better and better.

Evan and West's story continues in book three of the Phoenix Rising series. After the death of her parents, Evan is now the Queen of the Wraiths. Evan and West go through a lot in this book as they fight the evil that has West. This is an action packed, captivating paranormal romance with page turning suspense and twists. The writing is well done, the characters have intense chemistry and after that ending I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Evan or better known to the Waiths as Queen Evangeline. Also to her friends Aurelia the Phoenix Seer and her sister Mena the Phoenix Agesis now both the two most powerful phoenixes. The three are trying to hunt down Eva a rogue Phoenix and stop a Wraith war that has been brewing for a millinia. Eva has corrupted wraiths into killing children and that is abhorrent to the strongly mated women. This is anothor stand alone story but still fills in gaps in over all series being the women they are lots of sex lots of murders none gratuitous all with meaning. Looking forward to last book or maybe last book. Again full rounded love whole thing story. Ten out of five stars

I didn't like this one as much as I liked the last book in the series. A lot of this book had to do with their past lives. Separately and together. It was a nice touch.. I just feel like it took up to much of the book and you didn't really learn anything new from it other then West claiming again and again that he could never claim Evan. And Evan being happy just to spend time with him before it all goes downhill because she is tired of never being the one he chooses. I also don't like the fact that he never made up for hurting her over and over again through those years. Never once did he explain to her his reasoning or feelings on the matter. And that just sucked. Evan just decided because she almost lost him that all was forgiven. That's not how that works. It might work for a bit, but there is still resentment, hurt, and anger that was never dealt with. I was not happy with this story.

Okay this one was so good. Couldn't put it down. Evan and West were too cute. I love that each book is a progression of the story and we get to see all the characters we've come to know and love. I can't wait to read the next one.

Spent most of the story wondering how Evan and West would get their happy ending with all the trouble, intrigue and personal stuff they dealt with and caused. But it was a good addition to the story and an interesting read in itself and seeing how it fit into the series.

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~

This is the next installment of the Ashes to Ashes series. I devoured this book. I couldn't get enough. Wes thinks he's doing the right thing by staying away, Evan thinks he's doing this for different reasons. The pull between them is strong. Their chemistry is off the charts and the sex.. whew, hot, steamy, and addictive!! Action, adventure, death, weddings, births, and a surprise that I never saw coming! I know that this is a short review, but if I told you what I really wanted to say i'd give the entire book away. Just trust me when I tell you that you NEED to read this installment!! You will not be disappointed at all!!!

Evan knows who her fated mate is. He knows it too, but refuses to acknowledge it. Instead he acts as her guardian. What's a wraith to do?

5.0 out of 5 stars This series gets better and better!
Reviewed in Australia on September 6, 2016
First of all, it’s important that you read the first two books in the Ashes to Ashes series. Each of them ends on a cliff hanger, and the third book continues the story that started in the first book although the main characters are different. I reread the second book before started Rising Ashes because I wanted to make sure I remembered correctly all the many and varied characters. I also loved the paranormal world that Annie Anderson created.
What can I say? Annie Anderson surpassed by expectations. I wouldn’t call it a fast read. Apart from keeping track of who was who and what they could do, I also had to work out who were the ‘bad guys’ and why. Nothing was as it seemed, some characters’ actions surprised me and I had quite a few WTF moments.
Paranormal is my favourite genre and I love to escape to another world. The fact that his world existed within the human world made this series even better, or is that scarier? But even though the characters weren’t human, they became real people who had feelings and fell in love. I fell in love with some of them and I hated others.
Rising Ashes held my attention from the first page until the last. In fact, I was disappointed when I finished it because I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait to read the fourth book in the Ashes to Ashes series!

The actual main story is quite dark but wrapped up in a fluffy bundle. You just know that the main characters might go through hell but it will all turn out ok and they will all live HEA. That ruins the tension that you could have.

There is so much that goes on in these books that it feels like I’ve read a dozen, not just 3. And while the leading women all find their soulmates, the paths to true love are bumpy as hell & seem to be riddled with pain, torture, murder & the odd wrinkle in life.
