As an Avid fan of Aven’s writing and a lover of all things romance and sports I was so excited when she decided to move into the world of baseball and if there could be a triple homerun, she hit it with this one. It is by far my favorite baseball romance book ever.
This book was like my dream story from when I was growing up. Being from Michigan I am and will always be a Detroit Tigers fan. I grew up sharing a room with my sister, dreams of meeting that swoon worthy player (In my world it was Lance Parrish) who would sweep me off my feet and we’d live happily ever after. She more than fulfilled that dream for me.
From the moment they meet, Haley dumping coffee on Brody you can feel the attraction. Hayley has no clue who he is nor is she the least interested in sports but there is something about him that makes her take that chance with him. Brody, for me, just took one look at her and even though it seemed as if they were different on so many levels he pursues her and the rest…well the rest you will have to pick up a copy and read.
This book has humor, it is full of passion, there are obstacles that stand in their way. What I love is those obstacles are not insurmountable and suddenly solved in a page…they are dealt with in a real world way that leaves you with a story that could have happened to any one of us.
Aven does an awesome job of researching her characters as well as the location the story is set in. It makes you want to go there and visit all the places that Hayley and Brody went. And it makes you want to go to a baseball game, buy a hotdog and a coke and cheer on your favorite team .
This is an AWESOME start to this series. I have butterflies just thinking about their story and as I finish this, I am going to go and read it all over again. My only regret is that there are only five stars to give, because this book deserves so many many more.

Baseball butts a yes or no for Hayley
I love that this story starts in the most awkward way . These characters are so interesting not without flaws and insecurities to work out.I love that Brody and Hayley build each other up from friendship throughout the depths of their relationship . Hayley knows nothing about Brody's life when she meets him . But she falls in love with the man behind Brody's career not his career infact at the beginning she could careless about baseball butts . I recommend this book to people who love a good happily ever after.And also have interest in a good story unfolding with character development.While it's a small portion of the book I enjoy Hayley's family dynamic and her friendship with Katie.
