It was lovely and sexy and hot and painful. The Finest Line follows the love of a brat and a dominant man who knows just what to do with her. It was very different than anything I've even read in erotica. It has a pretty interesting plot that was well thought out, a lot of buildup and downtime where there isn't any hot action, and a ton of harsh spanking. I love spanking, don't get me wrong, but in this story, it often went beyond what I felt the infraction warranted. Because the journey has such volume and it hits the right age bracket, as well as the right voice, I would call this New Adult with spanking and not Erotica, where it likely got dumped by Amazon's censor bots. I don't even really remember if there are drawn out sex scenes because it's the relationship that sticks out in my mind, and the strappings, and that's why I wouldn't classify it as Erotica, which is usually written just for the titillation. The sexual energy really sizzled in various spots, which made it so fun and memorable. I find myself thinking about this book from time to time, so it definitely has glue and glitter. I'm glad I got it.

Die Spannung zwischen Mairead und James ist beinahe greifbar.
Mairead ist eine verzogene Göre und James is wie ein Fels in der Brandung - ihr Fels in der Brandung. Sie sind so unterschiedlich, dass sie schon wieder perfekt füreinander sind. Ich liebe dieses Paar!

I couldn't believe that I hadn't paid a penny for this fantastic story. I had put off reading it because the cover picture seemed so cold and yet the story was really hot. When I saw that there were quite a few pages of reading (going on for 300), I hoped that it wasn't going to get boring. No need to worry, because it was a page turner and I couldn't get enough of it.

It is the story of a selfish, bratty, bad mouthed, gymnastic wild child called Mairead and a dominant ex-army, chauffeur/bodyguard called James. There is lots of sex and discipline but it it so much more than that. This sexy book actually has a proper story with murder, corruption, drugs, blackmail, abduction, passion and of course love.

At times I got exasperated with the heroine for putting herself in danger but she always got her comeuppance when James found out and she seemed to be continually in tears for one reason or another. I liked the introduction of the secondary characters because it brought new elements to the story and showed how the main characters were affected by their introduction. After all, no man is an island. This book is in my all time top ten and is a keeper which I am sure I will read again and again. I am now off to download the other two books in the series.

J'ai téléchargé ce livre parce qu'il était gratuit. Comme je suis très souvent déçue par les gratuits, je n'en attendais rien.
Quelle ne fut pas ma surprise en le lisant!
L'anglais est facilement compréhensible, il y a peu de "fautes de frappe" comme on en trouve tant dans ce genre de livre. Les personnages sont attachants, parfois agaçants surtout Mairead qui est la "petite fille" bien trop gâtée devenue une peste, mais, malgré tout, elle réussit à gagner le cœur du lecteur. J'ai aussi beaucoup aimé James qui m'a fait penser à un certain Christian Grey ou Gideon Cross.
En résumé, ce livre est agréable à lire, comprend un certain suspense: ce n'est pas un simple récit érotique traitant de la fessée ou du BDSM.
Je recommande ce livre à celles et ceux qui ont aimé les trilogies 50 Shades of Grey et Bared to You. Certes The Finest Line est peut-être un cran en dessous, quoique..., mais c'est en tout cas un livre très agréable à lire.
