Not only is it a cliffhanger but boring. It's a shame as the premise sounded interesting. The first chapters are confusing and then nothing seemed to be happening and from what I read the way she was treated and the environment seemed strange and not like other historical Highland books that I have read. I could not finish. I saw others saying it was a cliffhanger so went to the end... here we get a sex scene and while they cuddle he is thinking about what he must do next with obvious hints of more story to come. he does not appear to even love her at this point so we get both a very unsatisfying romance ending as well as an unfinished drama plot, not worth reading.

When I went to delete this book there was an updated version, I did not read that, this is my review of the first version.

This book does have a cliff hanger ending, if you care that much about the authors version and have no ability to guess. That said I thought this book was very enjoyable! I laughed out loud at the cooking scenes and at one point laughed until I had tears! It is a fast read and I walked away with a smile and the freedom to choose how I wanted it to end.

Maybe living in the past, won't be so bad after all.

I love Lorraine's other books & she's excellent at time- travel romance, which is a favourite genre of mine.
This was a good read, kept my attention & ended with a cliff hanger that I'm dying to know what happens next.
Recommended if you,like me, love 'Outlander' & time travel romance books.
