    Since Aurora turned the table on Kai and took the law into her own hands because of a signal from Debbie, Kai is missing in action(so to speak). He told Aurora he needs time. Aurora gets really frustrated that Kai isn’t with her. She calls him up and lets him know how frustrated she is. Then Cory tells her about her new partner, Lisa. At first, Lisa is too annoying and talkative for Aurora’s likings. But, Aurora changes her tune after they go on calls together. When the local casino has a bothersome pick pocket that they can’t nab, Aurora goes undercover to nail them. That’s where she meets up with Jeff Waters, who takes a liking to her. Find out what happens when Jeff lets Aurora know that he’s taken a liking to her. I would recommend not only this book, but the series, to everyone who likes crime, cops, action and romance. The author continues to draw you into the book, the same as the other books in this series. She also, continues with the smoothness of the story line. I like suspense and romance, and this series has my attention!

    I am not a fan of the new short stories that said this one was written so you didn't feel like it was a short story. Other than it did start and end too soon. I love anything written by Mimi she writes a good story, always with a full body story. I do suggest you read the other two first as each book is better than the last. Now the next book comes out in March, and I am just telling myself over and over that is not far away, right. If I only had a day of the next being released I would count the days!

    This is the third book in the Vegas Series and I have read them all. How could I not? Aurora and Kai are great characters and their "love" story draws you back for more. In Vegas Shuffle, Aurora is forced to deal with the very real possibility that Kai won't return. Aurora agonizes over the hard decision she made that Kai considered a betrayal. Knowing she did what she had to do is a small, lonely comfort. Aurora goes about her business, as tough and competent as ever. She even accepts, with appropriate "eye rolls", a new partner. How else can you deal with a gorgeous woman who never stops talking and is cheerful in the morning? It takes an unwitting guy--Jeff--to jerk Aurora back to her senses and acknowledge the truth. AND to reach out to Kai and tell him to get the heck back where he belongs. I can hardly wait to see his response. Bring on High Stakes Vegas - and hurry!

    Could not put any of the VEGAS series books down. Loved Mimi Barbour's writing and character development. Highly recommend all the books in this series.

    Not heavy reading, but great suspense and romance. Not too much romance but wonderful story.

    Another wonderful, although short, book in the Vegas Series. I binge read all 6 books, having bought 4 of them and being gifted with ARCs of the short first book and the long last book. I really can't say which book I liked the best, I feel I loved all of them equally, even the shorter couple, but binge reading will do that, you just avidly go from one to the next. I have missed out on a lot of sleep thanks to Mimi, lol. But this series is one I will be reading more than once.

    I've enjoyed the other two books in this series. Aurora is a great heroine, strong but also vulnerable, although she doesn't like anyone to see that side of her except her best friend. Kai, her partner (or ex partner) and lover walked away because she took action that she felt was necessary but that he saw as a betrayal. She thinks she's lost him for good, but there's more to it than that. I am looking forward to the next instalment in their story to find out how it works out for them. When Kai does come back he has a big surprise waiting! A great series with wonderful characters!
