A Comedy of Erinn (A Venice Beach Romance Book 2) Kindle Edition
Erinn Wolf needs to reinvent herself. A once celebrated playwright turned photographer, she's almost broke, a little lonely, and tired of her sister's constant worry. When a job on a reality TV show falls into her lap, she's thrilled to be making a paycheck--and when a hot Italian actor named Massimo rents her guesthouse, she's certain her life is getting a romantic subplot. But with the director, brash, gorgeous young Jude, dogging her every step, she can't help but look at herself through his lens--and wonder if she's been reading the wrong script all along. . .

If only reality tv was this real!
Reviewed in the United States on 12 October 2013Verified Purchase
For all of you who have ever felt you didn't quite fit in, but knew deep down that you were fabulous, this book is for you! Great prose, a fantastic story line - coupled with an insider's view into the reality of Reality TV makes this a book you cannot put down. You will root for Erinn, cringe at her embarassing moments, and cheer her successes - especially the accidental ones. I think we all have a little "Erinn" in us and that is what makes this book so hard to put down. The book will grab from the opening paragraph and you will be amazed at the myriad emotions you will feel by the time you reach the end. I loved Celia Bonaduce's first novel, The Merchant of Venice Beach, but I found this one equally, if not more, engaging. I know there is a third one coming, and I, for one, cannot wait!

Witty and Charming
Reviewed in the United States on 11 May 2014Verified Purchase
This is a witty and charming follow-up to Bonaduce's "The Merchant of Venice Beach". Erinn Wolf lands a job producing a reality TV show called BATTLEready! and finds herself attracted to two very different men. This is not a bodice-ripping romance - rather, it is a very funny tale of a 42-year-old woman learning to navigate awkward social situations and the brave new world of reality TV (she says to her sister, "...TV has gone to hell in a handbasket. These reality shows - my God! What a waste of time and money," which is even funnier when you realize the author herself is a producer on HGTV's "House Hunters.") Erinn is quite a character - very smart but myopic at times in certain social situations. She can't stop herself from correcting the grammar of others, quoting movies and plays, and citing historical facts. She is also determined to do a good job on the show, even if it is a step down from her days as a celebrated playwright in New York City. The third book in the series is "Much Ado About Mother" and due out this month; I'm very much looking forward to reading more about the Wolf women.

Fast and Fun

I used the same title for my review of the first book in this series, the merchanct of venice beach. But it really is true of both books! I like that the characters from the first book show up a bit in this one, but really it's its own thing so you can read them in either order. I hate when "romance" books think that the readers are all into soap opera-style fake romance, so the smart tone of these books suits me much better. I wouldn't have even tried them except a friend guaranteed me i would love them and she was right! If anyone has read books by Sparkle Hayter [more smart funny women in those books], then you'll like these too!

A MUST READ
Reviewed in the United States on 28 September 2013Verified Purchase
A Comedy of Erinn is the second book written by Celia Bonaduce, the first being The Merchant of Venice. A MUST READ for both books!
Erinn is a very confident, smart, intellectual gal that is having to make a career change. She is feeling older and less confident until she falls for one of her crew members while producing a television series.
This story is fun, sad, and intriguing all at the same time.
The story line is full of surprises and you can't put the book down because you want to know what will happen next.
Can't wait for Ms. Bonaduce's next book!

A Comedy of Erinn
What a great weekend read this was! I very much enjoyed revisiting some of the characters from the author's first book, The Merchant of Venice Beach. Getting to "know" the title character in this work, Erinn, was such fun. She's currently my favorite. Some of her thoughts and actions had me literally laughing out loud! I am very much looking forward to Ms. Bonaduce's third book.
