Review
I could not put this book down. The originality of the story made it fun to read. The characters that Kim H. has created and the storyline that they move about in had me turning pages and ignoring my need for sleep or food.
As a voracious reader, I sometimes feel like all the unique ideas have been taken, like I am reading a rehashing of the same plot line over and over. Then a book like Moody & The Ghost: Dead Ahead comes along and renews my optimism.
This Author can write like no other... I fall in love with every single book and you will too!! Definitely worthy of 5 Stars!
A classic ghost story deftly re-fashioned for modern readers, this one will leave you smiling.

This was a fun read with the various stories behind the ghosts and the characters were unique, interesting and likable. This book does leave you a little cliff hanger to tie into the next book to discover more of what's going on with the history of the main ghost.
I will continue on with this story, I found it totally entertaining.

Until recently, Bryn's job was as a paranormal investigator with her own YouTube channel. People tuned in to see her, because of her clairvoyance and flamboyance. However, a recent automobile accident cost Bryn her beloved husband, Harry, her eyesight, and her clairvoyance. Now that it's time to get back to work, she has opted to fake it, rather than let her viewers know she is both blind and no longer able to sense ghosts. Only her two-person crew, Eve and Carlos, know the truth. Bryn gets a second chance when she mysteriously inherits a haunted house from a woman she's never met--a woman who hopes that Bryn can help the ghost who haunts the home.
While visiting, Bryn realizes that, in this ghost's presence, she can see again, albeit in a psychic fashion. Still, it's better than what she had. Now it seems that she and the ghost, one Captain Caspian Cortez, each has something to offer the other. Bryn cherishes their time together, as it allows her to see, while Cortez wants her to find his bones and give him a proper burial so he can cross over.
I really enjoyed this story, even though there was no real resolution. It didn't end on a cliffie, per se, but it's clear I'll need to read the other books to get the full story. It was well-written, Bryn was an engaging character, and I also liked Eve and Carlos. Bryn's mother, Rachel, is a piece of work. Even though she's never "on-screen" (the reader is privy to telephone conversations between Bryn and Rachel) I still wanted to push her down a long flight of stairs. Ugh. Plot was exciting and well-paced, and there were no editing type errors that made me go, "Hmmm".
Wonderful! I'd like to give it 4 1/2 stars, but I'm settling for 4, since there was a lack of closure.

Bryndle Moody, a medium, who has a popular YouTube show - Moody Paranormal Investigations- that allows her to have income plus the ability to help the deceased. Expect, Bryn's mojo isn't working after an accident that took her husband, Harry, that also; has left Bryn blind. Their dog, Hodor, is sent off for training as a service dog.
Bryn is now having to rely on her cousin, Eve, who is psychic and helps with marketing; also, Carlos, the tech support. Both trusted members on her team. For the time being, Bryn's blindness is kept under wraps from viewers.
While still living on a houseboat, Bryn is told that she inherited a house from a fan, whom she has never met. Bryn soon learns that the previous owner, Belinda McMahon, had a reason for choosing Bryn. The massive, historical home is haunted, but it's one particular ghost that Belinda wants Bryn to help. The dashing, full of himself ghost, is just what Bryn needs for her self confidence and boosting the ratings!
In the story, Bryn uses a cane that she's named Tap Tap, and uses it to tap to songs. Also, she likes to name their vehicles, like the ghost hunting mobile is Marshmallow. I love the dog's name! This is a fun, entertaining paranormal read!
