Hear What You Want (Chaos and Consent Book 1) Kindle Edition
One photo. Two lives changed forever.
When Ambra McKenna wakes up almost-naked in a hotel room and missing pieces of her memory, the only clue she has about how she got there are the empty alcohol bottles all over the floor.
That, and the half-dressed rock star lying beside her.
Ambra remembers the sizzling attraction she and Chaos In The Courtyard's frontman Noah Garcia had for each other while she photographed his band the night before. But what happened at the after party?
When a photo emerges on social media of the two of them making out, both Ambra and Noah's reputations are on the line. Is she just a desperate band groupie trying to get attention by sleeping with the sexy singer, or did Noah take advantage of her while she was drunk?
As accusations fly, one thing becomes clear. Something did happen to Ambra that night, and that one photo is all the evidence they have.
However, sometimes... the camera does lie.

An incredibly well-written contemporary tale touching upon several sensitive issues including the matter of consent, the pitfalls of social media, and rape. These heavy subjects are wrapped up in a suspenseful story with amazing characterization. Ambra is a strong woman, and the way she meets this nightmare is incredibly realistic. She'll have to live with this for the rest of her life, and she faces it even with tears in her eyes. My heart was moved so many times in this book. While I guessed what was coming at the end, that wasn't the important part. It was Ambra's journey through it all and how she handled each new hit sent her way. The whole cast of characters was fantastic, and I loved seeing what was going on in Noah's head throughout it all too.
Not every page of this book was filled with harsh weight. There were a lot of light moments to balance it out. Ambra and her friends, her budding romance with Noah, and the way she was with her parents. It's nice to see a book where the protagonist isn't isolated, but one that has a strong support network.
This was a cliffhanger, and I'll eagerly be picking the next book in the series!
Ambra is an amazing, strong, and really dealt a wrong hand. A night of her dreams that quickly turned into a nightmare. And the nightmare is just starting. I'm loving the storyline and the unraveling of the story.
This was my first read by this author and definitely won't be the last. Honestly the cover of this book and the synopsis drew me in. Highly recommend.
Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
The theme is tough and dark, but it is a real and brutal story that needs to be told. It's well-written, and I couldn't put it down.
Recommended.

Kyra Lennon is clearly a very talented author who knows exactly how to keep her readers hooked. Hear What You Want has a ‘whodunnit’ feel to it as you see Ambra trying to fill in the blanks about what happened that one night, and each time you think you've worked out who is guilty, that person is ruled out and you're again trying to figure out who put Ambra in this devastating situation. And then just when you think you're finally going to get the answer, the book ends on a cliffhanger. I wanted to jump straight into book 2, and I'm now sat on the edge of my seat needing to know what happens next.
And then there's Noah. This guy is the perfect package, and you can feel the energy between him and Ambra from the moment they meet. We get some chapters from his POV and I hope we'll hear more from him in the second book. I can't wait to see if he and Ambra continue to build on the connection they share. And I get the feeling she's going to need his strength and support when I suspect she'll be faced with the ultimate betrayal by someone she thought she could trust.
Hear What You Want has crossover characters from the author's Razes Hell series, but both series can be read separately. I've checked out both books from the other series and I'll definitely be reading them as I want to know more about the Brooks brothers and the women they fall in love with.

What a read this was. Taking you on a rollercoaster of emotion as you ride the waves of confusion, fear and hurt alongside Ambra as she tries to make sense of what happened to her on the night she can’t remember.
I felt the author dealt beautifully with the modern issue of conviction in the court of public opinion. How even if you’ve done nothing wrong, social media can have you tried, convicted and sentenced within moments, having never heard a single fact about what happened.
The characters are real and believable, making mistakes along the way that I think we can all relate to. My heart hurt for Ambra, especially at the end there with the big reveal that made me want to throw my kindle at the wall.
An absolutely brilliant read. Now I have to go dive into book two IMMEDIATELY!

Hear What You Want was such an amazing and interesting book. I couldn’t stop reading because I wanted to know how it was going to end and wow, the way it ended was so abrupt. Ambra finally figured out who changed her life and that’s it. Then the book said ‘To be continued’ and I was so angry. I just wanted to read more and know more about Ambra and Noah.
Ambra and Noah are amazing characters and I could relate to Ambra on so many levels. I’m kind of a punk girl too, and I’m also the same kind of person. Noah is also an amazing character and it was nice to know his side as well because there’s a double perspective.
I also want to say that there was a small Riverdale reference and yeah I agree with Ambra, I’m more of a Jughead kind of girl than an Archie kind of girl!
The story was about rape which may be a triggering for some people but I highly recommend this book. It shows how people don’t always believe a girl when she got raped and especially when she drank alcohol. Hear What You Want was such a good book and I couldn’t stop myself and bought it on Amazon after I finished it, it was just that good!

The way Lennon has weaved the tale of Ambra and Noah is scary real. Social media has a lot to answer for when it comes to rumour mongering and celebrities. ‘Fans’ and celeb blogs are the ones that dole out justice before all the facts are known. That is one thing I despise about being a fangirl.
The differing points of view cleverly give the readers a well-rounded view of what is happening. If this story had only one POV, there’s no way I would have believed Noah when he insisted he wouldn’t have done what social media accuses him of. In fact, having his point of view showing us how being accused so publicly can mess with his own belief in himself.
Lennon has dealt with the subject matter in such an amazingly sensitive way and highlights how victims can be viewed by the general public in high profile cases.
It’s certainly an eye opener.
Book 2 now?

Ambra is excited to see one of her favourite bands live. Even better her best friends have managed to get her back stage access. What should have been an awesome night with great chemistry turns into a living nightmare. Ambra clicks instantly with band member Noah. They have a fun night but when she wakes the next morning something this definitely wrong. Her memory suggests she was drunk and past out. Her body tells her something more than she remembers happened.
I enjoyed this book. It isn’t my usual happy go lucky read but I was hooked on every page. This book will leave you wanting more but luckily for me I have both this and the sequel in paperback form, and so the story continues in Say what you feel.

I had my suspicions I'm usually pretty good at spotting the little clues but I was way off base this time. A story that was addictive reading a story that made me stop and think. And when that revelation came my heart skipped a beat and hurt just like Ambra.
Book two beckons I'm so intrigued to see what happens next.
