Touching, Romantic, Gripping, Great Story!
Reviewed in the United States on 26 September 2018Verified Purchase
A touching, romantic, easy-to-read, gripping story with a lot of suspense, thrills, excitement, and warmth. Leo runs a coffee shop and runs after a handsome customer who left his coffee behind. Leo is hit by a car, and the male nurse who tends to him is the handsome customer he had run after, Andy. The attraction is mutual, and it is believable, exciting, and palpable to the reader. However, as we get caught up in their sweet romance, Leo is torn away and under the clutches of evil men who treat him poorly and try to deport him, while he is still trying to recover from his injuries. The love between the two men is touching and sweet, and I kept rooting for them, as they face other difficulties as well. This really held my interest – I could not put this book down. A very gripping, well-written, exciting, romantic, and satisfying story! I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it.

A Real Page Turner

Some books you pick up and can't put down until you've devoured every word. Coffee-to-Go is definitely one of those books. Bell absolutely nailed his debut novel, creating characters that you instantly fall in love with and plot twists that keep you turning pages until you're at the end and wanting more!
If you're a fan of romance, suspense and non-stop drama, you should definitely pick up your copy! I look forward to see what the future holds for Bell, and am impatiently awaiting his next release!

Great book
Reviewed in the United States on 18 December 2018Verified Purchase
I had the pleasure of reading this book as soon as it was released. It was well written and easy to read. The character chemistry between the two main characters is prevalent and perfect. Grayson does a great job in keeping the readers interest with the drama Leo and Andy have to go through. It was a page turner. I did not want to put it down. It made me a bit anxious at the beginning of the story as Leo was being detained without getting taking care of properly. I had my own recent experiences. It brought on a whole host of emotions. Grayson does a good job in bringing out your feelings. He makes you feel drawn to the characters and wanting to see them finally live the life they have dreamed without any more troubles. I did, however, want to smack the nephew at the end. He was funny though. I highly recommend this book.

Sweet

I picked up Coffee-to-Go because it sounded like a cute story to read! I love the LGBTQ representation and it's a sweet story to read if you're looking for a quick romance and some sweet stuff.
However, I found it hard to read in the aspect that there's an entire book where we don't really know the characters. I felt unattached to them. Where long moments of introspection can turn readers off, there wasn't any at all and I felt that I truly didn't get the chance to experience the story through the characters and their eyes. It felt one dimensional and flat. Any conflict was resolved in a few chapters. It didn't really feel like there was an objective to the story.
However, I know writers grow with experience and age. Although this story wasn't my favorite, I'm looking forward to Grayson's work in the future and seeing him blossom and continue to grow!

Too sweet not to like
Reviewed in the United States on 21 February 2019Verified Purchase
Coffee-to-Go feels underdeveloped to me. The premise is intriguing, the central relationship progresses in a refreshingly unique way, and the characters are engaging, but the actual execution of all these good ideas is a bit superficial, and some of the plot points are poorly explained.
So, why the four stars?
Because the protagonists and their story are too adorable not to like. I read the entire thing in one day and smiled the whole time.
