Wow, this story is intense, dark and an amazing read. Not sure what it says about me lol, but I love that Ariel gets her vengeance. KL Donn does it in such a way that you almost forget the darkness surrounding her characters. You cheer for her heroine and hero's and justify the torture and pain they inflict. Luther is amazing in his darkness, power, controlling Alpha. His character is amazing in that he makes Ariel stronger without taking her light. He cherishes and protects her and gives her hope, for the first time in her 18 years of life. This is a dark, intense story of death, destruction, vengeance and love. It's one I would read again and again!

    This books of the Adair is about Luther and Ariel.
    Luther is a slight lose canon on most thing it seems and enjoys the work he does for the empire. He is a alpha through and through. Strong and steady tho he falters a little in the book at one time but only take him a short while to figure it out.

    We get to see all the players from the first books :)

    Ariel is what I would call a lost soul. Given up. She was handed more then a bad hand in life. Her path in it might get some people to like her much as a person thinking she had a way out but in truth she was stuck. She had found her way out but Luther "saved" her from that way. She was ready to give everything to help them right what had been done. Can not realy say anything else with out givin to much. Just recomend reading this and the first book. I am not a huge dark romance reader but loved this book and will be reading it again.

    This is the second book of Adair Empire book series. This is the first book I have read by KL Donn, and I'm loving it. I feel like I missed something, since I didn't notice that this was the second book. Now I have to go back and read the first book (King). Anyways, I love Luther's and Ariel's story. Ariel is a strong young lady with a really messed up life that she is ready to change. Or end. One day Luther follows someone from his enemy's home. Once he notices what that person was up to, he felt obligated to stop them. Luther felt a pull toward this person. Once up close, he saw this beautiful red head girl and felt that he needed to protect her. That's how their story started. They both had a rough life. Now they had each other for support. Luther will give his life for Ariel if he has to, and Ariel would do the same for him. Ariel loves Luther and she just realized that now she has a reason to live. This book is great; I really can't wait to read all the other books from this series!

    Luther and Ariel have somewhat of an instant connection although Ariel‘s childhood was extremely traumatizing and traumatic. She’d basically lost the will to live. Luther made it his mission to help her heal, love and enjoy life. Good steam, well develop character characters. definitely some trigger warnings but highly recommend.

    Woah. That was my first thought after finishing this book. I had started with Luther, but after finishing I went back and bought King: 13 Little Lies, which is the first in the series. Holy crap this book was awesome, and I need the next book in the series.

    This is the story of Ariel McCray, the daughter of evil incarnate Timothy McCray who deals in the skin trade business, and Luther Sutton, right hand to King Adair and the Adair empire. Luther is set to watch the McCray property, which is where he spots Ariel leaving the grounds. From the first flash of red hair, he is obsessed. Ariel is set to commit suicide because of what she’s been forced to do at her father’s hands, but Luther cannot let this happen.

    This review isn’t long because the book was short, too short Ms. Donn can you extend this? Thanks! In fact, this book only gets 4 stars because I need more! (Ok just kidding it still gets 5 stars). If you’re not into death and gore, and people getting off on the death of bad people, then you should not read this series. This is for the crowd that enjoys dark romance. So you’ve been warned!

    I fell in love with the Adair crew, and I really fell in love with Luther and his sociopathic tendencies. The way Luther is sick and twisted, but calls Ariel princess, following the King theme which I thought was awesome, seriously melted my heart. Not sure who is more twisted, K.L for writing the character or me for claiming him as my new love? Not sure, but it doesn’t matter. This book was amazing! and I can’t wait to read the next one!

    These are not standalone. The first doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but the second book most definitely does. I will be stalking K.L. Donn to see when the next book comes out.

I'm not usually a fan of dark romance but its KL Donn so take my money. I was mesmerized, couldn't tear myself away from this story. I devoured it in a few hours and I'm going to finish this and jump into Castiel. The Adair Empire is addictive and I am completely and totally hooked!

    So there cant be any spoilers in our reviews so i will keep this short and sweet. After reading king we get an idea of how luther will be. In this book we get some of this and when he has his girl it stands out more. My only issue is that this book seemed rushed and it is reflected in the development of the characters. The love story in its core doesn’t feel as strong as king’s with Lilith. That said it was a good book. His rough alpha self shines thru.

    This is the second book in the Adair Empire series and I wasn’t sure how anything could compete with King but this story did.

    Adair is so damaged by what she has seen and what she was forced to do and has come to a point where death would be a reprieve but then Luther comes charging into her life and he knows that she is his.

    I loved these characters as Adair is so much stronger and resilient than she knew and Luther is her alpha protector and will not let anything hurt her again and the heat between them was explosive. The next book in the series can’t come soon enough.

    OMG this new book in the Adair Empire Series is so good I couldn’t put the book down I kept turning each page cause the story just had me from the very first page. Luther is a cold blooded killer but when he spies Ariel something in him cracks open. When the men find the one that is meant to be there’s they protect them with everything, but the great thing even though the women have been through hell they are stronger and shock the men with how fierce they can be. I absolutely love this series where the women are so strong and the men so loyal. I can wait for the next book.

    I was so keen to read Luther after reading King, to say KL didn't disappoint with it would be an understatement. Luther was everything I expected, plus more tenfold. It was dark, raw, emotional, twisted, violent and depraved.

    KL broke my heart in a way she hasn't done since Kennedy's Redemption with this book, the raw emotion within Ariel was tremendous. Within all this darkness, two souls were able to save and redeem each other.

    Though it broke me, I wouldn't of had it any other way, it was perfect. I cannot wait for Castiels book, especially after the way this book ended!
