Review
I read constantly. I always have access to a book on my phone or tablet so it's hard to find one that stands out or is memorable. This one was. I love Gabriel and Grace.
The sexual tension and romantic interplay blended perfectly. Gabriel is the perfect combination of masculinity, hero and gentle angel.
With wonderful romantic moments and intriguing action throughout, Becoming Gabriel is a swift read that you'll thoroughly enjoy. The best part of the novel, however, is the simple interactions of the two main characters. I was immediately drawn to each of them from the start and it's a lot of fun going along for the ride as they find their way with each other.

Amber Anthony is the pen name for Nancy Reynolds and Rusty Hough Bader. Years ago Theatre was Nancy's career and Rusty was a Dance and performance major at USF. They met through their love of British history.
Their genre drama short script Maxwell Older was an earlier Las Vegas Film Festival winner.
After developing several scripts of note, they directed their talents toward writing Paranormal Romance with an emphasis on magical realism in their ‘undead’. They developed their own mythology of day-walking undead bent on delivering the perfect bite to satisfy their mortal donors. Vamps have to eat somewhere, right?
As the two of them have lived in a variety of cities and they travel together, their next book was a Contemporary Romance based in Baltimore, Maryland with themes of redemption and renewal. Their newest series is Action Romance involving an ensemble of law enforcement professionals up and down the California coast.
Their Alpha males are heroes for today. Their heroines are quick on their feet and clever as the devil.
When they aren’t collaborating long distance, they live in separate cities with their respective menageries.

Gabriel Lerner excelled in the Navy, but once out made some some bad decisions that led him down a path of self-destruction. Trying to turn his life around after hitting rock bottom was a daily struggle for the twenty-three year old.
While eighteen year old Grace Lerner did come from a privileged life, she was trapped in an abusive situation and forced to flee her home. Had she not ended up in a rough part of town with little more than the clothes on her back, she and Gabriel would never have met. Offering her shelter without strings attached, and eventually a shoulder, Gabriel became protective of the young woman who brightened his life. Grace never once acted like a spoiled debutante. Refusing to be helpless, she showed uncommon resilience as she adjusted to her new reality. Bonding over their difficulties, Gabriel and Grace built a relationship of trust and opened their hearts to each other.
The lovers stole moments of happiness when they could while constantly looking over their shoulders. As if fighting to survive with limited resources wasn't bad enough, dangerous forces conspired against them and threatened their lives. Even the support of kind caring individuals in their lives could not keep Gabriel and Grace safe. A heart-breaking separation was forced on them that would test the strength of their love and devotion to each other.
This is the second book I've read by Anthony Amber. The first was one in a paranormal series. I appreciated the style of the writing, the well-developed characters, the intriguing story-line and the vivid descriptions, and had no reluctance to try the author's first contemporary romance on for size. Becoming Gabriel delivered on all fronts. I found Gabriel and Grace endearing and was totally engaged from the beginning. As their love blossomed and the smallest things shared brought them joy, my heart soared. When they were torn from each others arms, my heart sank. It was a roller coaster ride of emotion and intrigue all the way through. There were new obstacles and challenges at every turn keeping me glued to the pages. Would their love persevere? Would they find their way back to each other against all odds---how? All I will say about the ending is that it is well executed.
Becoming Gabriel is a touching uplifting story and a great read. I highly recommend it! Bravo Amber Anthony. I'll be reading more of your work, so keep the books coming, please!
