Wow, I absolutely loved this sweet, clean, contemporary romance. Throw in surprises, shocks, struggles, disappointments, new chances, discoveries, and finding love. It doesn’t take long when you go from broke to so filthy rich that the users come out of the woodwork, and also you learn who is a true friend, and who is a user.

Tyler Howe is a man who works two jobs and still can’t get his head above water, but he does it to support himself and his mother. She has raised him as a widow, giving him a secure childhood and now he is taking care of her. A stop for gasoline, a candy bar, and a lottery ticket will change his life. His boss thinks he stole the candy, fires him, and when he gets home, Mama sees the lottery ticket, and the numbers match to win.
“Just keep going, it will be alright.”
Rachel Thorpe left her home and family in Kansas to move to Eureka, Texas to work as an interior designer in a prestigious company. New to town, she is given two jobs, one to do a nursery, the other work with a man on his home. The nursery is easy, but her other client, Mr. Howe, is a shock when she meets him, and he won’t give her any direction as to what he wants, just asking her to put something together.
The story brings Tyler and Rachel together, and it is a strained working relationship, but also one that intrigues each of them. He asks her out, and she refuses his request, saying she can’t date a client, so he will fire her and hire her back, numerous times. He convinces her that if she wants to know about him to design his home, she needs to spend time with him. The more time they spend together, the closer they become. Rachel is cautious and doesn’t want to ruin her chances with her new job. Tyler has been used and hurt by people he thought were his friends over money, so he needs to know that Rachel isn’t like them.
The relationship is clean between Tyler and Rachel, and they discover they have much in common, including both liking to hunt. Clara, his mother, really likes Rachel too, and they develop a friendship. That doesn’t mean that Rachel isn’t cautious and there is plenty of misunderstandings, angst, and confusion along the way. Before Rachel can think of allowing their friendship to become a relationship, she needs to complete the job, with him being wowed by her dedication to the job. When it is complete, what will happen? Will they be able to declare their feelings?
