Seth is in the Army and protected his men by sacrificing himself. He's broken - both of body and mind. Quinn is his physical therapist and (unbeknownst to him) she is a healer. Seth doesn't like his reaction to her, or the fact that this tiny woman is capable of helping a big, bad, alpha soldier, so he treats her horribly and says mean things to her.

After Quinn is in a workplace accident (that was totally his fault), Quinn leaves and heads back to live with her grandmother. Seth realizes how horribly he treated her and feels compelled to check on her to make sure she is okay. He feels drawn to her and doesn't know why. After discovering her past, he has to make sure she is safe. Can he make a future with the woman who he is realizing stole his heart? Read and find out!

Seth was horrid to Quinn taking out his frustration and anger on her despite the fact that Quinn was only trying to help him heal from his horrific war injuries.

I couldn't help but not like him but as the story progressed my opinion changed!

This is an extremely well written and very enjoyable story which I thoroughly loved.

I enjoyed this short. It's a little PNR and a little military.

A couple of things that bothered me -
Even though Seth has an inner beast that paces, growls, puts its paws over its head, it's in his head and there are no physical signs of it (strength, shape changing, hearing, smelling, etc), so there is no telling if he is an actual shifter or not.
Quinn uses special oils and salves while messaging her patients. Except for the tales told by her brother, I don't remember seeing any special healing ability.

But as I mentioned - this is a short story and there is not a lot of room for hocus pocus or long romantic walks in the mountains. He's an a$$hat that finally realizes what Quinn means to him when he loses her. She doubts that anyone could want her, as that is what she has been told all her life. I loved that his name opened so many doors for him along the way. It's a quick read and good for a long lunch or bedtime relaxing read. Give is a try, but if you are looking for a good PNR - try Abbie's Mythic series - they are awesome!

I love easy reads! This one is no exception. I started reading it, and before I knew it- 2 hours has passed and it was done. I didn’t even have time to prepare for the ending because I didn’t realize how much time had passed. I can always get behind a good croie book from this author. I really wanted to hate Seth, and I did in the beginning, but she did such a great job changing my mind and having me hope he redeemed himself. For only 99 pennies, I feel like I stole the book!!
