College Football Etiquette: A Primer for True Fans of the Game Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 3

Editorial Reviews

Review

Susie Blair Nielsen: "A fun book filled with great stories about all the traditions of the various conference teams. The etiquette primer has lots of common sense ideas to make rooting for your team fun without being hurtful to others. Following Jerri's journey as a Gator fan is interesting & sometimes heartfelt. This book would be a great gift for anyone who loves college football!"

From the Author

I wrote this book because I love the traditions and history of college football and want to help make sure they are not swallowed up in the blast of media coverage that now dominates the game. The playing field is an important part of the history of our country and contributed greatly to civil rights in this country. Martin Luther King once said that love is the way to true change, tolerance is not enough. After the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964, the people of this country began the climb toward tolerance of people of all colors, but the love that was needed to really make the changes that needed to occur could not be forced by law onto an intolerant population. It was when people of color began to be active on the sports arenas in this country that white America began to really love the young men and women who played for their teams. That initial change in attitude toward single individuals then began the metamorphosis toward real and positive change. That change is something we need to keep working on today.
