About the Author

You may call me Subject BGD. I began my journey inside the Shattered Lives universe in 2001, and in the winter of 2008, my muse sputtered the final line for the 112-chapter story, much to my reluctance. I wasn't ready for it to end, but there it was... the last of this portion of Corbin, Chase and Tylar's story. As I started to shop for editors, it became apparent the universe I created was far too large to be published as a single volume. It would need to be split into a series. 

Writing the Shattered Lives Chronicles helped me process various devastations I have faced, some of which nearly destroyed me. It was my outlet. My escape. My way of dealing when it felt like everything was crashing down around me. This world saved my life more than once. I hope others find the strength I did within its pages.

Subject BGD began her journey inside the Shattered Lives universe in 2001. In the winter of 2008, her muse sputtered the final line for the 112-chapter monstrosity. As the search for editors progressed, she realized the story was far too large to be published as a single volume. It would have to be split into a 6-book series.

Although the Shattered Lives Chronicles is a work of pure fiction, writing it helped Subject BGD process real-life devastation. It was how she endured when the depression set in. It offered a place for tragedies to be amplified and dealt with by characters stronger than the author felt she could ever be, in a setting she could control. This series saved her life more than once, and she hopes others experience the strength within its pages.

    OMG! First and foremost. I am an adult. I do very serious adult stuff. And its such a drag! That being said, I like to just step out of reality sometimes. And not in a fluffy everything ends well and things almost happen kinda way. But in a dark, gutteral way! Life isn't rainbows and sunshine, and honestly I don't like my escapist activities to reflect that either.
    And this is where On Fractured Ground comes in hard, in an amazing way! It goes dark. It doesn't shy away from the depravity of humanity and the real psychological cost of suffering. It goes deep. And if you are someone who finds themselves going down various dark rabbit holes at 3 in the morning ( like myself) this novel doesn't disappoint! It feeds the conspiracy theory beast whithin! Its got action, and sex, and betrayal, and survivors. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait for the next one!
    I love finding new authors and I feel like I've found a good one with On Fractured Ground! Can't wait for the next title in the Shattered Lives Chronicle.

    The author writes in A. confusing pattern…at least for me. So much of the time I am not sure who’s speaking. It only has a few characters. also didn’t know what the story line was, not my usual read. I am not sure I would recommend this book.

    I don't like to give authors a bad review and honestly after reading all the five star reviews I had high hopes for this story. I expected a story that would share with the reader the horrors of grooming young girls to be sold into the sex trade. Instead, I felt like this story makes being one of the trainers an idealistic and desirable position. With the women being introduced into sexually pleasing men from a very young age and from all appearances enjoy it. I haven't finished the story but honestly, I don't think there will be any great redeeming ending to be found by finishing it. I expect that the gorgeous girl (Tylar) being groomed for sex will become the love interest of the man who inherited the business and is getting richer from the enterprises started by his forefathers, throughout the story he claims that profiting from this business is contrary to his moral compass yet he allows it to continue and allows the trained girls to be sold to the highest bidder. I had a hard time liking any of the characters, except I did have little pity for the girls being brainwashed into believing that pleasing a man in whatever he desires should be their ultimate goal.
