The thing I love most about Annalise’s writing style is the conversations between her characters. Many authors use speech that leaves you thinking, “Who talks like that?” The first page of this novella had me laughing because I could actually hear and see the conversation. It felt real. That’s just one of the great things. If you haven’t read the duet before this you don’t have to but it helps to understand some of the innuendo and hints that take place here. You won’t miss anything by having not read them (except they were awesome too-so go grab them!). This was a great look into Josie’s character and her “family”. It’s a quick fun read and just feels like settling down with old friends. I truly loved it and can’t wait for what’s next!

We met Josie in the author’s Perfect Storm Duet. This book is a standalone but I encourage readers to pick up the Duet to enjoy more of this author’s great characters.

This novella gives us a glimpse into Josie’s past and wets our appetite for more of her in books to come. Can’t wait!!!!

Annalise does such a fabulous job of character and storyline development. So engaging and always a hint of whimsy!
