Manners uses improbable story lines, cardboard characters and stilted dialogue. I know she can write well, but this collection is cobbled together without context. No sense of place. I don’t usually write harsh negative reviews but this book is an insult to her readers

I liked this sweet collection of Regency romances. The first one was not the best, it was poorly written in my opinion, there were times when it was hard for me to follow the storyline. But after that the stories have improved. The characters were sometimes funny, sometimes sweet, sometimes frustrating and always lovely. The story ideas were interesting and captivating.
If you like sweet Regency romances then I recommend this little box set for you.

These novellas are a mixed bag

Some of these books were better than others. Unfortunately the author was really heavy handed in each book with male family members as the antagonists. It got really tedious having the same issues with the heroine and her evil family members each time. While each storyline was different most of them were pretty far fetched. In the first book both the hero & heroine run away from an arranged marriage and end up in the same place. Seriously? In the last book the hero and heroine marry as very young children. All of the books lacked romance and humor. Some ended really abruptly with very little “happily ever after.” There weren’t enough likable characters in any of the books. These books are average at best. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

This collection contains several books and they seem to be written by different people, according to the writing style. I can only say I was very disappointed with the collection with the exception of one story.
