“Crosby (On Bended Knee) stays true to form in this lively late-19th-century romance about Sophia Vanderwahl, a Boston heiress funding her delinquent fiancé, Harlan Penn, who has gone off to explore the Yucatan and, as it becomes apparent, the joy of native women. Looking for retribution, Sophia sets out to find Harlan and give back his engagement ring. She hires Jack MacAuley, an overbearing adventurer-and old rival of Harlan’s-to take her to Mexico. Though suspicious of Sophia’s motives in using him, Jack needs the money to finance an expedition of his own. Jack is convinced that Sophia is out to sabotage his boat, but before long, angry sparks turn into romantic ones. Gradually, Jack and Sophia, each learn to trust the other as both lover and friend. The entertaining banter of Crosby’s characters will keep readers engaged in this humorous romance.” — Publisher’s Weekly
“Once again, Tanya Anne Crosby gifts readers with a love story to cherish. Her amazing gift for spinning a colorful yarn will enthrall as the reader is swept away on the waves of Jack and Sophia's heartwarming voyage of discovery.” — RT Book Reviews
“Woman hires man to find her missing fiancé but finds love instead. Sophia Vanderwahl had hired Jack MacAuley to search for her philandering fiance. On the voyage from England to Yucatan, Sophia’s feelings for Jack grow strong, making her forget she had ever promised anything to her fiance Harlan Penn. The characters may have been typical, but the Yucatan settings and legends are most unusual. They work quite well here, which makes the book interesting and magical. Tanya Anne Crosby has come up with another winner!” — Affaire de Coeur
“Enticing adventurous historical romance. Fans of historical romance will cherish Tanya Anne Crosby's latest novel, HAPPILY EVER AFTER. The enjoyable plot centers on two wonderful lead characters struggling to keep their libidos and their growing attraction to each other in check. This leads to humorous and dangerous scenarios that bring the late nineteenth century to life. Sophie is a fabulous lady who dreams of a lifetime of happiness with a beloved mate. Jack is an exciting hero whose desire for Sophie fights with his ethics to do the right thing with his betrothed passenger. Ms. Crosby entices her audience to seek more of her entertaining novels.” — Harriet Klausner, 5 Hearts!
“Historical romance author Tanya Anne Crosby sets out to show us a good time and accomplishes that with humor, a fast-paced story, and just the right amount of romance.” — The Oakland Press

- Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2014I really enjoyed this. The characters were fun and the plot entertaining. Any book that primarily involves romance genre that can still be entertaining enough to make me laugh that hard aloud, is well worth a five star rating. And boy did I laugh! The heroin has an uncanny way of flustering, to horrendous disasters in the wake of her hero. At one point, I'm shaking my head and telling the girl in the book to just stay in her room and not to touch anything. But yet, so entertaining that it works, and the reader will be forced to laugh aloud. The main characters are intriguing, few secondary characters, but still likeable, and the villain is down right loathsome. Well worth a read! I really love when an author can write a good romance, while adding truly enduring (yes, the ones that will be remembered) comical scenes. Austen always wrenches my heart, and at the same time makes me giggle like a school girl. I use those feelings in comparison to whatever I'm currently reading. I weigh the result of how I feel when I've finished, to the worth of reading the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2012This is the first novel by Tanya Anne Crosby I've read. It definately won't be the last.
I really enjoyed this story because it wasn't your typical cookie-cutter damsel in distress rescued by handsome man. Thank goodness.
Wealthy heiress Sophia Venderwahl in engaged to an antrhopologist that has been on location in the Yucatan for several years. Friends since childhood, Sophia never doubts that her Harlan will come back to Boston, they will marry in a ceremony just like the one her mother has always planned, and then they will live happily ever after.
The only problem is that the only exploring Harlan has been doing the last several years has been inside his tent, with any number of willing local native girls. When Sophia learns of his duplicity, she is not only angered that he has made her look like a fool for faithfully waiting for him, but also that he has taken advantage of her father's trust and funding.
There's only one thing she can do: sail to the Yucatan and break their engagement. Doing it through a letter wouldn't do. She wanted to see the look in his face when he realized that she, or more important to him, her father's money was no longer in his future.
Unbeknownst to her family, she boards the rickety ship captained by Jack MacAuley, a black-sheep of the university and rival to Sophia's fiance. Under the guise of desperately missing her Harlan, she begs Jack to take her to Harlan's camp. At first he resists, but the both the money and the spitfire who wants to throw it at him persuade him to give in.
Sabotage, suspicion, and one crazy mishap after another mark their 2-week voyage. By the time they arrive in port, neither is ready to admit the feelings so obvious to everyone else.
Happily Ever After is a very enjoyable read. Once I started it, my family practically had to pry the Kindle out of my hands to get me to stop reading. :)
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2017Wow! An original plot...and a good one! When Sophia learns that her fiance of three years has been using her to get to her father's money, she vows to track him down and throw his ring in his face. The only problem is that she is in Boston and he is in the Yucatan. She finds Jack MacCauley, a rival of her fiance Harlan, who is on his way to the Yucatan to do his own exploration, Jack's overbearing manner (not to mention his ancient boat) give her pause but her anger compels her to continue on with her mission. During the two weeks sailing to Mexico, Sopia's "help" nearly sinks the ship but Jack begins to find her irresistible.
I love Crosby's writing style and her characters are incredibly well done. Jack is the hero that many of us long for. He's bold, brash, intelligent, and trustworthy. And *sigh* he's also handsome and romantic. Sophia's intelligence and curiosity have always caused trouble for her. Her longing for independence and adventure often lead her into misadventure, but her goodness and humor shine through. Her "fails" are sometimes ridiculously funny. I think this couple are a perfect match.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2018Oh, how I enjoyed this story. This is a story where the romance builds slowly which is the best kind. There is lovemaking, outside of marriage and mildly described. But, because I enjoyed this couple and felt a connection, it wasn't vulgar, but sweet. Of course, some will disagree.
I loved the spunk of the h and how she took devastating news and took control. Our H was a charming, honorable man and they brought out the best and sometimes worse in each other - which made for a very entertaining story.
There is no cheating for our couple, no cliffhanger and we get a HEA that just was perfect. I am not going into the premise, because others have explained it better than me. Just what you may get out of reading it. I enjoyed it! (ljb)
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2014A very charming love story is Jack. Any reader and lover of historical romance will not want to miss a single book of Tanya Anne Crosby. She inserts humor wherever she writes. It is a seafaring journey that you'll undertake. But the ride is worth it. In Ms. Crosby's words Sophie is an "irksome wench" and "both curious and passionate - full of life - every man's most fervent dream." And Jack was sunk before he got on his ship. The series (Redeemable Rogues) were addicting. They were stand alone reads. But you will love them all.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2019I truly enjoyed reading this Book. I was laughing so hard at these Wonderful Characters as if I was there with them.
Albeit I felt like Tanya Anne Crosby did a little more musing than she usually does in writing.
Don't get me wrong, The Story, Scenes & Characters were Great.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2017The coming of age story of a young woman set in an interesting plot is well told. Tcaracters are well drawn. Fortunately the detailed sensuous physical encounter frequently found in romance stories can either be enjoyed or skipped. They are not the who!e story.
