Reading about uncle Saul in these previous books had me curious and wondering if he would get his lucky lady. And Annie packs a punch. Not a Jones but just as strong, I loved her sassy outlook and her powerful strength. Saul as usual is hotheaded and captivated by Annie, even if she nearly knocks him out. Never ending conflict for the Jones clan and Colletti warriors, I enjoyed the power and humour rolling in the book. I felt this book was short in comparison to the others, but still a good read.

Always a fun time with the Coletti!

What I love the most about these books is the lighthearted tone and undercurrent of straight-up fun that is spread throughout. It's like Annie and the rest of the ladies are on level 100 and their enemies are on level 6, so there's an almost invincible, "no worries, we got this" vibe, and it makes for some funny situations!

Annie was coming off of some tough times, but when life chewed her up and spit her out, it made her tough as nails. She was definitely someone you did not want to mess with. But Saul tried. Boy, did he try. But he learned quickly that Annie was not some shrinking violet he could command and expect her to listen. That, too, made for some funny situations.

I enjoyed catching up with characters I met in previous books, specifically Casey and Hothar, and I hope to revisit Saul and Annie to see how they are doing in the next book!

I love the storyline but the repetitive onomatopoeic phrases such as kablooey, and snikt & Schlick are annoying.
Ms Koger uses the same phrases for all her characters which is very unrealistic.
Please try and use different words in your novels Ms Koger.
I do enjoy the snark, but not some of the same, repetitive dialogue.

Absolutely love this series! I started with Vexing Voss a couple of years back and re-read it over and over again. It's a great feel good story with Action, Adventure, Snark, Humor and Hot Romance. It makes a great story to escape into that will have you laughing out loud, turning the pages as fast as you can and fanning yourself!

Gail does a great job in writing each story so that they can be read as a stand alone, but she does it in a way that it is still fun and not repetitive for those who have read the other stories in this series.

This book is SO WORTH THE MONEY! Much better than the cost of a movie ticket or a shopping spree and leaves you very content - like you had a fun romp all the time you were reading it.

Totally recommend! This book (as her others) is added to my "Favorites to be read again" pile. I am sure I will pick up the book and reread anytime I need a pick me up.

Gail is one of the very few authors on my auto-buy list and she has never yet disappointed. This story is no exception. It's based on earth so it's not quite as over-the-top, non-stop action as some of the others in this series but I enjoyed reading Uncle Saul's story and I adored Annie. She is a fine match and a true mate for Saul.

It was great catching up with some of the characters from previous books. I gobbled this story up and am already impatiently waiting for the next one. I tell myself that I shouldn't read these books so quickly but that is what re-reads are for. lol

One thing really bothered me about this story though. The "You're the woman and you must stay behind while we men do all the fighting" when all the women are warriors in their own right. It's getting old and it was even worse in this book.

You will probably enjoy the story more if you read some of the other books first, but there is enough explaining at the start of the book that you should be OK. I highly recommend this series and the first books like "Vexing Voss" are some of my favorite 'alien' books. I have spent many happy hours with Gail.
