Jennifer Rose author of The Pulse Series, in essence, eats, sleeps and breaths romance.     Mikala Santino has a habit of cursing. A lot! And abrasive is the kindest word you could use to describe her personality when her ‘no nonsense’ attitude explodes into ‘in your face’ attitude. Strong and determined, that attitude helps her navigate an unknown enemy of her club and the return of Mason Reed. This is the second book in the Pulse series and Eden’s best friend is front and center as she fights the threats to her business and her heart. No matter how much he has hurt her, Mason is back and she has to deal with it…

    When Mason left Mik they were both in pain. Unfortunately, the reasons why take a backseat to the fact that left. He is going to have to do some fancy footwork to repair the damage if he wants any type of relationship with Mik now…

    Mik’s supportive role in the first instalment of this series didn’t prepare me for a person who seemed entirely different in this follow up read. Given the circumstances around her and Mason’s breakup that could explain much of her cold exterior and it doesn’t take much to the cracks form as she and Mason get into it. Those glimpses were definitely needed as Mason wasted no time, and energy, in pushing all her buttons… The history they share is heartbreaking and seeing them try to figure out what is next gave emotional balance to the increasing threats and danger surrounding the club.

    As in the first instalment, friends surround the duo and lend a supporting hand whenever needed. Well-written and full of drama, humour and sex in equal measure, I can’t wait to read the next in the series - Landon and Carl’s story!

    This is the second installment of the Pulse Book series. All the same characters from the first installment reappear here along with some new exciting ones. They are all just as interesting and likeable as they were in the first installment. I was a little confused at the beginning of the book as it takes place quite awhile after the end of the first installment. There are a series of flashbacks that help fill in those gaps, however. The story is told in multiple POV with Mikala's being the primary. Then there's the alpha Mason's POV as well. Although just as alpha as Chase is, Mason is not a control freak. I found myself enjoying Mik and Mason's relationship a little bit more with the freedom that they shared. Mikala definitely knows how to hold a grudge and how to hold onto anger. But she is also a pro at forgiving. So much happens to her in this book, I don't know how she does it. I would have ended up going insane. But Mik handles herself well and all turns out well in the end. Mason charms the pants off of her and they do get their HEA. Although part of a series, each installment can be read as a standalone.

    This is the second book in this series and in this one we get to see and learn more about Mason and Mikala. Mikala actually owns the club that this series is centered around and Mason is the bodyguard and security man that we met and fell in love with in the first book when he helped out Eden. In this book, Mikala is being stalked and it is up to Mason to ensure that she stays off the stalker’s radar until he can apprehend him and with someone as stubborn as Mikala is, it will not be an easy task for him to commit to. He will not give up and this book does not let up and just keeps you wanting more and it gives it to you in spades and so much more and yet….

    ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW

    The story of Mason and Mikayla was such great love story. But we start of much later after they have became a couple and have lost a child.the story was greatly written but it could of used a lot more of the back story so you could understand it a little more. Don't get me wrong it is still a 5 star read for me they way it is played out. Why is someone tormenting Mikayla and why can't see see that Mason was just as hurt as she was when they lost their child, they have so many ups and downs during this book to get where they end up. But does Mikayla almost blow it one two many times? Can they get by again when a tragedy strikes again? Will Mikayla realize that Mason truly loves her no matter what?

    Book Two is a rich collection of romance, interesting interactions, struggles, challenges, surprising events, suspense, danger and humor. Reminds me of a Christmas Fruitcake, a packed concoction of fruits, nuts and mystery taste treats. I think I have another new best romance author to add to my list. The journey of Mikala & Mason filled every literary hunger for a reader's interest and enjoyment. Loved the constant pace of events, the surprising turns and detours and the evolution of Mikala & Mason's character. Also enjoyed seeing more of Eden & Chase and the lovely supporting cast of friends and family surrounding Mikala and Mason. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.

    This second book in this series was fabulous. As with the first book, this one really took my heart. This job author really knows how to pull you inside this story and make you feel every emotion.

    Mikala is doing her best to remain positive even though someone is trying to ruin her.
    When Mason steps back into her life...She just can't seem to cope.
    They share a complicated past and he knows he should have never let her go.

    This book will make you laugh and cry. I absolutely loved it. Great !!

    The second book in the Pulse Series is just as potent as the first book. This is Mikala and Mason's story. It is definitely just as intriguing as book 1, but it is more emotionally charged. The author did another great job with this work, and the details and descriptions were greatly written. This is a suspenseful, hair raising romance that will keep you on your toes. I'm ready for book 3, Landon and Carl's story.
