After reading the prequel, Stolen, I couldn’t wait to read Severed. I am in awe of this author. This book, while definitely dark, absolutely blew me away! The continuing story of Drake and Caia is not for the feint of heart, but it will definitely keep you entranced from the very first sentence. Drake and his brother and their childhood friend have had an incredibly hard upbringing. Some day they all want justice but aren’t sure when that day will come. When Drake sees someone from his past, he feels it in his bones, that this might be the time for vengeance. I don’t want to say anything further so no spoilers will be given. All I can say is if you like dark, twisted, Page turning, can’t put down, incredible stories, then this book is for you. But you need to read Stolen first so that you can understand Severed. A definite must read! Unreal!

Enter into the world of Severed, if you dare..where the men are mostly powerful and sadistic, the women are mostly broken and abused...and almost all, whether strong or weak, are victims of their circumstance...

This second book in the series focuses on the consequences of the first instalment and therefore cannot be read in isolation... this is a twisted and uncompromising story..the author has skilfully created an intriguing group of dysfunctional and emotionally bereft characters.. even those whose actions are unforgivable are made fascinating and in some cases worthy by her writing..

While reading there were moments when I felt shocked and horrified, but this is also a story of redemption and a beautiful but imperfect love

Brutal, menacing, suspenseful and utterly compelling...I commend this book to all those who like to take a walk on the darker side of romance..I received an advanced copy of this book from the author.

After reading the first so called Prequel to this story I said I wouldn't read anymore but I guess I have a touch of OCD because I just needed to find out what the heck that was all about. I still don't really understand how such vile men can start off such a sick organization simply because they feared someone would discover their secret. Supposedly Malcom (Drake and Dante's father) went to college with Hamish (Caia & Harper's father) Malcom gave some drugs to a girl one night and she took more then what she should have and died on the bed. Turns out that the girl was Hamish's sister, so he used that info to blackmail Malcom into starting up the Savage Organization. From what I understood the girl took the pills so technically I don't see how that could lead to any serious charges for Malcom. None of that matters this is her story and that's just my opinion. However I will say this those were some sick and twisted individuals, it makes me cringe just knowing there are real people out there just like them. Anyways I will end this by saying the book was well written, and would have been much better had she just scraped the whole prequel idea. I believe if she would have just edited a couple scenes that weren't really needed she could have combined both books. If you're a KU subscriber check it out for yourself and form your own opinion.

Wow, what an amazing read. I was hooked from Stolen, and I knew this book was going to b be the same. I love everything about this story, I love the characters, and how they are with each other. I love the plot, and all the twist and turns.

Severed is a dark romance, that gives you a grimly hea. It expose you to the life of six people who are entwined more than they know. Their lives are so messed up with all that has happened to them, but with what they decide all six will have the grimly ending with a smile. Dani, knows how to deliver her books with a bang. She keeps her readers always wanting more.

This series is definitely dark. There’s no other way to describe it. The events and the lives of the characters are heartbreaking, and they are all so broken. It’s in their brokenness where their love is found.

This series took me through all the emotions; several times. In was completely invested from the moment I read the blurb.
Although this series is extremely intense and dark, it is also very rewarding. The strength of the characters is inspiring. I found myself yearning for them to have the normalcy they all lacked; and quite frankly many people take for granted.

There are triggers on every page. If you’re a sensitive reader then this series is not for you. If your interests lean more towards the dark side of romance, I think you will find this series to your liking.

Regardless of your taste in romance, the story of survival, strength, love, loyalty, redemption, and revenge are inspiring. These people truly come to life in the pages of the series and I for one feel like I’m a better person for having gotten to know them. No longer will I take for granted the normalcy and uneventful life I have had the privilege of living. Not when there are others in this world whose every breath is dependent upon the whim of a monster.

I will admit I couldn’t finish the second novel in the series, but I won’t deduct marks because of my preference in novels. This series is too dark for me to stomach. It was, however, very well written for the parts I was able to read and I don’t think the author deserves a negative score for the sick thoughts that found their way onto paper.

Firstly, before reading this you must read Prequel Stolen, this book follows on, and boy does it!
This story had me gripped. My tummy doing acrobats, my heart racing and heck sucked me in like the first book. I couldn't put it down. This dark, horror romance was just as well written as the 1st. This book had you following multiple POV's, providing the story from each character, which was brilliant. Through the dark, gripping, cringing pages I secretly loved this dark read.

These books aren't for the faint-hearted.
