Terrific story of a long awaited romance. Young ginger bear, Bern, wanted Devon since he was 15. Devon had gotten married, so Bern went to college and the Marine Corps, because he couldn't watch them together. Bern's Dad kept him informed about Devon, so when they divorced, Bern came home. The marriage had been crappy, and Devon, 47, is left depressed. Bern, 28, begins his press for Devon, because Bern knows a lot of secrets about his man, and wasn't taking no for an answer. The age difference didn't matter, they belonged together. It's a sweet romance, a need filled in each man for the Daddy/boy relationship they both relished. Hot sexy times, and deep love are present.
We learn more about that lifestyle, so it's interesting, and different. Good characters that we like right away, and a marvelous M/M love story.

This is a beautiful love story that is many years in the making. Devon is married to a man that doesn't meet his needs whilst Bern is a teenager that realises at a very young age that Devon is the one for him.

🚫WARNING, SPOILER AHEAD🚫

Unable to watch how miserable Devon is in his life, Bern moves away for college and then joins the forces.

Roll on several years and Devon is now divorced and free for Bern to claim as his boy. It take a little bit of convincing for Devon to accept that his Daddy is young enough to be his son, but when he does, the love between these two is magical.

J. M. Danny has written another fabulous book and will definitely be one I re-read many times in the future.

JM Dabney takes the Daddy/Little relationship and gives it a new perspective. In this story, the Daddy is the younger man. Bern has always known he was a caregiver. He was raised by a family in the scene, so it seemed like a natural progression to have that in his own life. Devon has shoved his needs so far down on his priority list that he almost doesn’t recognize himself anymore. But the chemistry between these two men is easily recognized by the reader! It almost sets the pages on fire. Bern is still the physically larger of the pair, which comes in handy – hah, no pun intended – as it feeds both of the men’s fantasies and needs. Dabney fits a whole lot of kink into this short story.

Devon has never gotten what he wants from his marriage. Together for 30 years, his husbands betrayal hit him hard even though he wasn’t happy. His desire to be someone’s boy will never be fulfilled. He thinks he’s to old and he’s hardly a hard body kind of guy.

Bern fell in love with his fathers best friend when he was fifteen. Knowing his feelings were inappropriate because Devon was married, he joined the service as soon as he graduated. When he hears Devon was divorcing, he starts making plans to become Devon’s Daddy.

I really liked how Bern just took him over. Not even questioning the possibility that Devon wouldn’t want him to be his daddy.

Strong characters are this authors forte, and I’ve liked them all, but Devon and Bern might be my new favorites. Even though Devon was damaged he carried his sadness with such strength and although Bern was strong he used his softness to soothe Devon’s worries.
