Micah's Promise: LGBT Military Suspense (Delta Force Team Panther Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 847 ratings

Micah Kennedy has lived with PTSD for years. He is an expert at hiding his struggles behind the quick wit and snark that is very much a part of his makeup. His need to keep a promise to a dying comrade feeds his nightmares and invades his dreams—until that promise brings him military K-9 Delta.

Hawk McKinnon has spent most of his life kicking trouble’s ass in every hotspot around the globe. Now his sniper hasn’t returned from a CIA sanctioned mission in Pakistan and all bets are off. When Hawk comes calling looking for help, Micah doesn’t hesitate and jumps at the chance to repay a debt. A mission that will set him on a path to the one thing he never knew he was looking for: love!

Creed Erikson cursed the betrayal that caused his capture and vowed vengeance on those responsible. He knew Hawk was coming for him—he never doubted it for a second—but Micah Kennedy and Delta? They threw him for a loop.

Can Micah embrace his destiny, believe in the strengths of the bond of the triad that the fates have created or will he refuse to believe that he too deserves a happily ever after?

Micah's Promise is part of the Delta Force - Team Panther Series. While it can be read as a standalone... to ensure maximum enjoyment, it is best read in series order.

Delta Force Team Panther Books 1 to 7, by Author: Annabella Stone

Jonah's Compass, Tied Up In Steele, Malik's Redemption, Micah's Promise, Christmas Panther Style, Grif's Salvation and Jason's Justice.

I was addicted Book 1 to 7 I couldn't put it down. It has Special Ops Military action the non stop rescue at the risk of their own lives and their families. Then add in in Military Operations telling the good guys from the bad is extremely difficult. Not to mention its all based on intel which is another challenge good vs bad. Its amazing any if these missions are ever successful. This gives a new respect 🙌 for Mitary & Mercenaries Heros that risk it all to defend & rescue.
With 7 books I just can't do each book Justice so extremely brief comment on a few. Terrific written extremely well

Book 1 Jonah & Matt, you have to read even if you skip the rest. The Don't as Don't Tell nightmare it put on LGBT Military is horrific.
Book 2 Steele to have Alphabet Soup (CIA, FBI, Ghost, Delta & more) and the connections to reach them impressive. More so is the one tha captures his heart.
Book 3 Malik & Zeke, To die to protect the ones you love the upmost sacrifice. Risk it all for love?
Book 4 Micah intro to Triad to build his family. Hawk, Creed & Delta K9 assist with Micahs PTSD.
Book 5 Allie the Pilot on Ghost Crew has her child Lexi is endangered & Pathers find out a huge Betrayl.
Book 6 Grif, Rock and Allie another Triad in ghis team. After Book 5 this Family holds some surprise. Life & death assist with living.
Book 7 Jason this is one of my favorite- i reread it twice. High walls but Major Fritz stays strong & being taken brings the walls down.
This series is a keeper, one you can reread over & over.V3 knidnap. Torture, sold out +, S3 mature Gay romance & Triad

This series continues to be smart, suspenseful, and surprising. Sadly, we have a traitor or 2 who snaked their way in (-had some definite feels on that but no way to spare my humble opinion without major spoiler) As far as the triad of Micah, Creed & Hawk goes couple or trouple everybody deserves their version HEA, the person with the biggest heart has a lot room to share but can drown in empathy, so the need to be grounded is crucial.

This is far and away my favorite of the Team Panther series. Micah, Hawk, and Creed are the perfect Triad. I never had difficulty visualizing the characters, especially when Hawk and Creed would help Micah work through his nightmares and panic attacks. And the book has a dog! How can you not love a military trained K-9? Delta is the best, especially when she shows people exactly how she feels about them. (I wish she had been on the cover!)

I loved the dynamics of the relationship -- the snark, the understanding, and the "do anything for love" attitude. The acceptance of anything and everything from the relationship going from 2 to 4 (because, well, Delta) was fast and furious, and the teamwork to help each other was inspiring; it showed how members of a relationship can make missteps and it isn't the immediate end of the relationship; and more importantly the illustration of people -really- paying attention to each other, recognizing when someone needed something, and immediately acting upon that, showed a relationship that was beyond healthy.

If I had one complaint, I struggled with the constant POV changes in midstream, including the interjection of side characters' POV. And anytime you have this many males in a book, pronouns sometimes become confusing because sometimes I had to reread to figure out which antecedent went with the "he/him/his" connected to. However, the rest of the book more than made up for it. I will return to reread this on a regular basis!

Micah meets his future in Hawk and Creed. Former special forces associates who they had worked with in the past. Still trying to find the connections associated with all the problems the Panthers are having. Micah deals with this new relationship . Matt and Jonah find more distressing news in connection with Sarah
And Jonahs former handler with the NSA.

There is still enough going on to keep my interest in these stories and I do get attached to the main characters.

It’s not always a smooth read, with some actions not resolved, not discussed and then ignored. The most annoying, however, Is that when clues and red flags pop up, they are also ignored. For men who rely on their instincts to survive, to rely on their skills to work out problems, I’m surprised and frustrated that the characters have been written to look like amateurs in this regard.

I found that the points of view suddenly switching from one paragraph to the next, and faster than a chameleon can change colour, was very confusing. When the words didn’t match the action, I had to back up, read the beginning of the sentence again, and realise that it was another character’s thoughts. The changes of POV was enough to give me whiplash.

I’m really hoping that the writing gets better because the stories and plots are really quite good.

Excellent continuing story in the series, made even more enjoyable by the military trained dog Delta. Her original handler was killed in combat and she returns to action with Micah, the only person she will respond to. She is a blessing, as he suffers from severe PTSD, and gives his life new meaning. When Hawk and Creed also enter into his life, Micah is able to finally feel more stable and happy.
It is astonishing to see how this triad develops romantically and makes sense , even as it unusual and far from what most people could imagine as ‘normal’. Good humour and danger abound, and as usual, tracking the action is challenging, as both we, and the main characters, are kept in the dark. Political intrigue, sketchy details and unanswered questions drive us on to Book 5!

How come I missed reading this it’s been sitting on my kindle since it was released somehow I over looked it. So this once again grabbed me from the start and up to the end I was so into the story that I didn’t do any work around the house until I finished this book. This author writes a fantastic story. We gain more insight to the group of men. Definitely recommend this series.

I would recommend this book to people who like military romances, who don't mind a lot of graphic sex and who aren't homophobic.

The Delta Force Team Panther series goes from strength to strength with Micah’s promise. Micah finally finds happiness and in the double form of Hawk and Creed. There’s plenty of trouble and action along the way.
