He is the author of The Godslayer Cycle, Chaos Rising, the Oz-Wonderland series, and Ron El's Comic Book Trivia, as well as having written a screenplay adaptation of The Wizard In Wonderland. - Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2013The second novel in the Godslayer Saga, Two picks up where the first one ended with Nathaniel and his comrades attempting to find his missing son. After acquiring One from Avery, they're visited by a man carrying Three, which hasn't awoken yet and can distort reality. Following the confrontation, Nathanial and Brea are forced to deal with having memories and emotions implanted in their minds by the stranger of being together. While Nathaniel is angered over being forced to forget his wife for that time and not knowing what happened, Brea is forced to face the consequences of having her dream ripped from her grasp.
Brea is also struggling with developing and controlling her newfound magical ability after Nathanial killed her Goddess, Imery. The fact she lost her link to divine magic both scares and fascinates them as it's previously unheard of.
When a second sword wakes and finds a sailor cast to sea for mutiny, a terror descends on a coastal town and brings Avery and Nathaniel together once again.
Like the first novel in the series, Two is your typical Epic fantasy as if follows the paths of Nathaniel and Avery as they continue to vie for the power of the nine swords. One of the best arcs within the story of Avery as he struggles to maintain his composure following his initial confrontation with Nathaniel. His continuous struggles and a final opportunity to prove himself sets him up as the hero is this story. We're taken along a predictable path with Avery, but nothing is as it seems.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2013Well, Two, follows in the way of One. Gritty, morally though provoking, Gods and introducing the Demi-Gods. Nathan is back in search of Two. Now it is a race between Avery and Nathan to find the Two. A visitor from the future puts a twist in the plot, and is always in the back of Avery's mind.
Swords with a 'soul' and how they affect mortals is continued in this series. How many Gods will eventually fall to The God Slayer? How does this all affect the Wanderer and his fellow Demi-Gods?
Along with more fleshing out of Nathan, Brea, Bracken, and Avery, more of the Gods involvement is brought out. Now, enter the Demi-Gods, how will all this sword stuff affect their lives. Glick does a great job of keeping the plot moving and compelling. Cant wait for Three
- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2015The second installment in the Godslayer Cycle does not disappoint. Two is equally as engrossing as One, with an excellent continuation of the series plot. The characters continue to grow and change along with their circumstances. The story has interesting twists along the way and the ending certainly surprised me, which does not often happen. I'm still on the fence as to whether I should think of Avery as a hero or a villain, making him my favorite character. This is a series I would certainly recommend to fans of epic fantasy.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2013This book is even better than the first. The reader is taken on predictable paths...or at least thinks they are predictable. Strange twists abound. Enjoyable read. Fun watching this fantasy world grow and take shape. There is a fullness to the characters and the story does not depend on "feel good" circumstances. Sometimes events are just down and dirty. I enjoy this because it brings you to a closer reality in which the characters exist. Read it. It is fun. Looking forward to the next one! Good job Ron.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2015This second book of the series continues to be interesting and engaging. It has also, surprisingly still unpredictable, one of the few books/series where I cannot mostly predict the ending. I'm looking forward to reading what comes next.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2014I have read other books by Mr. Glick and find him to be a wonderful writer. Two continues on from One which gives even more depth to the characters. A very good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2015Two is the second book in the nine. I won't go into 'what came before' because Mr Glick does quite a good job doing that for you in the beginning of the book. Makes it easy if you've forgotten a bit about the previous book or the author doesn't put out a book a month like some!)
As the title specifies the book is about sword Two. You learn quite a bit more about the characters that came from book one. They progress and it is refreshing to learn new things about them. I appreciate that things don't get stale. The biggest thing about Two is that what you thought was 'the way things are'. is NOT 'the way things are'!!
Two has some twists and turns you don't expect. Mr. Glick fills in the places that need to be filled in and adds more to be continued. Can't wait for the next books!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2016In book "Two" the story explodes out, yet remains comprehensible within the overall framework. I love the characters and emphisis on regular people dealing with complex wholly new situations. There is courage, determination, loyalty, yet betrayal, skulduggery and a rapid pace. Has there been an earlier falling out between humanity and the Gods? It seems so. Where did the New Gods make thier deal with Humanity, or, did they? Have the Gods been stunting Humanities development? Again, it looks like it. A long standing reality is beginning to rumble out of control. How will it turn out? You will have to read it....smile
