- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2015The Wonderful Alice of Oz (Oz-Wonderland Book 3) by Ron Glick
Three wicked Withes are fighting for control over the magical land of Oz. Also the Wizard is trying to figure out how to send the Wyrds to wonderland. Then Glinda the good witch, has secrets that may change things in Oz. Dorothy comes back, and there is a quest beyond the looking glass that has everyone's attention.
A fantastic fairy-tale/fantasy that merges Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and Alice from Alice in Wonderland. The blending of two old tales is delightful and really imaginative and very fun to read. I loved Dorothy and Alice and some of the other characters from these two classics. The Wonderful Alice of Oz is great as a stand alone, but I strongly suggest book 1The Wizard In Wonderland - Cover A and book 2 Dorothy Through the Looking Glass.
*This book was given to me as a gift.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2015Great end to a great trilogy.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2016The Wonderful Alice of Oz picks up where the second book, Dorothy through the Looking Glass left off. I continue to be impressed by the way the author blends the worlds and characters of Oz and Wonderland into a very original tale. I really enjoyed the way the story develops. We learn that Oz and the Looking Glass world cannot exist without each other. More interesting titbits about the past of the characters is revealed including Glinda’s history and Betsy, a girl from Oklahoma who also lives in Oz. I loved the way the story and action develops. The ending left me looking forward to the next instalment.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2015The third and final book in Ron Glick’s Oz-Wonderland Series didn’t disappoint as the story remained fresh and kept me turning pages. As with the other two books in the series, I thought this stayed true to the original characters and stories written by L. Frank Baum and Lewis Carroll while taking them in a whole new direction.
For me, Fenstel (The Wicked Witch of the West) and Toto were the two stand out characters simply for their roles and interactions. I don’t want to give too much away, but they both had unexpected roles that lifted them both in my eyes. There was also a little nugget buried in the book hinting at a second series that I can’t wait to read.
Overall, I really enjoyed the story as it took me back to being a child and reading the original classics.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2015I was sent this book for review and found it to be an unusual and imaginative read.
Taken from two classic fantasies, it melds into a curious mix where fictional license goes to extremes and yet it works.
It is difficult to say too much so as not to give away the plot and ideas, but I will say that for those who enjoy something different, this series is for you.
