About the author

Ron Glick (born January 20, 1969) is a community activist, and has been active in several charitable enterprises. He was born in Plainville, KS. After living in various states, he currently lives in Kalispell, MT. He is the author of The Godslayer Cycle, Chaos Rising, the Oz-Wonderland series, and Ron El's Comic Book Trivia, as well as having written a screenplay adaptation of The Wizard In Wonderland. Additionally, he created the Golden Age Preservation Project as a means of making Golden Age comics more accessible to modern audiences. - Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2014While this is certainly an epic tale of fantasy, and in many ways a fascinating story, it's a bit too convoluted for my taste. Also, it gets repetitive as characters tell other characters about their adventures, which the reader has already read about. It's not a bad book really, I simply think the execution could have been handled better. There are a number of good scenes, but far too many which dragged in-between.
For the most part I enjoyed the characters and found them distinctly different from each other. But though I am mildly curious about a few of the loose ends left behind at the story's end, I'm doubtful I'll read the next installment.

As a huge fan of Epic Fantasy, I love nothing more than seeing a new world unfold before me and to take part in the adventures of the characters. Much like Ron Glick’s other books I’ve read, Immortal’s Discord doesn’t disappoint. The storyline remains strong despite being divided into multiple angles and characters. It’s an easy thing to have the overall story become unraveled, but the author does a fantastic job of holding everything together.
I love to see authors add their own spin to a well-known genre, and the author has succeeded in adding a dimension to his Gods and Goddesses rarely seen outside of Greek or other ancient people’s mythology. We’re shown the true history of the Gods of the eastern continent of Na’Ril. Their history reminded me of the origins of Zeus and his siblings, which added an unexpected and enjoyable angle for me.
The characters are well developed and entertaining. The mage Terius finds himself caught in a web of intrigue and sorrow you can’t help feel for him, but the manner in which he is forced to deal with it brought a chuckle out of me. It helped that my favorite character, a Drow (Dark Elf), Amber, was responsible. I enjoy characters with a slightly darker twist to them and she offers that and more.
I don’t like to give away spoilers, and I won’t here, but the ending was both satisfying and teasing for what’s to come.
Author Ron Glick has become one of my favorite fantasy authors, and I can’t wait for book three.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2014Wow, I was so lucky to have been given this second instalment of such a great story...I loved it from beginning to end.
With a useful recap at the start, we are once again plunged into this creative and imaginative world where familiar and new characters battle the forces set within a prophecy, yet all is not what it seems.
I don't give spoilers but will say that this author has a superb eye for detail and a knack for suspense and development of plot and characters, with many a twist and turn and surprises.
An excellent read, which I highly recommend. I can't wait for book three.

This was actually the book I requested to read, though the author kindly provided me with the first book to read as well. Although I'm normally fairly good at picking up storylines in books later in a series, it was good to read from the start.
It was nice to see many of the characters from book one, as well as new ones. One of my suspicions that I had from reading book one actually got confirmed in this book, which was pretty interesting, particularly in how it was handled.
I liked the idea of the Fist, but even by the end of the book, I was still left with more questions about Valos and the others. The bond between them was a really intriguing one and I would have liked to see more of that, too.
I did get a bit confused with the connection that Katze and Terius had. Even after reaching the end of the book, I wasn't sure I really understood what was going on there.
I liked the different kinds of gods there were and the plotline running with one of those was a pretty interesting one. I also liked the idea of the No Stone. Ellen is a particularly interesting element and I'd like to know more about her.
At some point in the future, I'd really like to read the next books in this series. Currently, Amber might be the character I like the most and I'm really intrigued to see how certain elements in this book are going to be explored later on.
