Sashimi (Evil Sushi Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 48 ratings

Sashimi is all about the quality of the fish. Only the best make the cut...

A storm was coming, brewing faster than a bubbling cauldron. People were missing; ghost towns popping up along coastlines. Strange creatures lurked in the shadows, the screams of their victims heard, but the carnage rarely seen. Still, the government and military refused to believe nature was their foe, insisting terrorism was to blame.

The once picturesque fishing town of Treacle was gone; lost to research after being commandeered by a General. Whatever the cause, the oceans had turned deadly, and the virus responsible was spreading inland. They needed a cure and fast. Unfortunately all they had learned so far was the mutations in some people were much more extensive than others.

A radical decision was called for, but would it be the right choice? Pick up a copy of Sashimi and find out for yourself.

This is the second book in the series and they just keep getting better. This book is a quick read and it will have you wanting to know more with every page. This is a different take on the genre than I am used to. Being as it is the second book in the series, I feel that you could read them out of order. You will be able to grasp the concepts of the book without feeling like you're missing anything. However, if you did read them in order, you would definitely have more insight into what is going on. I felt like this new take on things really made the genre feel vibrant and fresh to me again. I wasn't expecting some of the twists and turns that this book takes but I am completely here for it. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. This book offers suspense, horror, paranormal, and dystopian elements that I couldn't get enough of. I only wish that the book was longer. It was a great read and I can't recommend it enough. If you haven't read the first book in the series go and read it, you won't be disappointed.

Yes. After reading Evil Sushi I immediately went to see if there was more and I was not disappointed. Sashimi was a quick read but worth it. I love this new world of evil food and the imagination the author must have to come up with it must be amazing.

I have read a few books by this author and every one is a hit from weird shifters to sexy zombie island all the way to evil food. I love them all.

After reading the first book Evil Sushi, I just had to read the second and third installments of this series. This talented author has yet again wowed me with their creativity and originality. Reading one of this author's stories has never left me feeling disappointed, which is exactly what you want when finding a new author. In this sci-fi book it has suspense, horror, and with twists and turns that made me make quick works of this book. I will say that you read this series in order if you want a better feel of things that are going on. That being said you could still understand if you choose not to. I'm notorious for starting a series from the middle. So i was happy i started with book one for once lol. Off to book 3 can't wait to read it .

The premise of this series is very original. This book picks up where the first one leaves off, dropping us in a dystopian atmosphere, where things are quickly falling apart. The originality of the overall story, as well as essentially relying on fisherman to save the day, makes this book interesting. As with most end of the world type stories, the government does not want to believe in the supernatural, they just want to conquer. But the refreshing part of this book are the ones who do believe and definitely want to do the right thing.

This is a book where you definitely have to read book one before you start this book. I have read many books between reading book one and two, and I personally would have liked more of a recap of what happened previously. I was a bit lost throughout the story, not remembering exactly what previously happened. Besides that, this was a unique, interesting book that is unlike any I have read before.

Book was much too long for it’s content. That’s the problem with a lot of sequels….simply an expansion to bring in the money. The only thing that broke the monotony was the mad dash for a off the wall romance between two shallow people. I kept waiting for the story to get better…no such luck. I stopped reading the book for a couple of weeks because there wasn’t anything compelling me to come back. I finally did finish it and will not be reading Wasabi.

This is the second book in the Evil Sushi series. It pulls you in right from the beginning and keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Very good series picking up from where left off on the first book. It had love, mystery, suspense all in one. Can't wait to begin the third book in the series!

What can I say....C.A. King is on a roll with her series Evil Sushi! I thought that book 1, Evil Sushi was awesome, but I think that Sashimi is just as good, if not better! C.A. King knows how to mix suspense with a love story, mystery, and a little bit of horror. In her first book of the series, Evil Sushi we are introduced to Rod, Ned and Sally, well the adventure continues with Rod, Ned and Sally. Ned is still a stubborn, know it all old fisherman, Rod and Sally finally tie the knot, and Evil Sushi is still lurking out there...somewhere. The human race is on the verge of extinction, and it's up to Rod and Ned to work with the government to figure out how to stop this "virus". Rod and Sally's marriage is already facing turmoil, and there's nothing Rod can do about it at this moment. The government is working with Rod, Ned and Sally to try to find a solution, but are they really looking for a true solution, or are they just using Rod, Ned and Sally. There's so much in this book that it is so hard not to spoil it!! I will definitely be reading the third book in the series, Wasabi.

Sashimi was a great continuation of Evil Sushi. I liked how it showed all aspects of human nature. Arrogance in thinking we can outsmart and power over everything else, the will to survive, jealousy, grief, etc. I was truly surprised by Sally’s actions this time around. But it goes to show you that everyone is capable of the worst things possible. Aileen coming to terms with her brother predicament and doing what she thinks is best was great. I think if anyone survives this thing it’ll be her, Ned and Rod. The general is ridiculous. This was an entertaining and quick read. I can’t wait for the next part.
