Kingdom of the Last Dragons is book #2 of the exciting saga of Farloft the Dragon and his friends, which started with James & the Dragon (Book #1).
The Healer, Theresa, has returned to the Kingdom after a ten year journey to the Far East. She brings with her new knowledge of healing and spells unlike anything the Kingdom has seen in the past.

James is learning how to fly, which isn’t easy even with newly sprouted dragon wings. Farloft is trying his best to teach James what he needs to know to survive in his new role as a young dragon.

The Farloft chronicles are fun to read. The author is creative. I like the healer in this story and also how Sarah entered the story as a new character. This book is a good length and I am looking forward to getting book 3 now that I've finished the first two books. I think Theresa adds excitement with the Ruby and I won't say any more about that- you'll just have to read it! The wizard definitely isn't one you want to mess with. I like how the story ends with a good cliff-hanger and now I can't wait to see what happens with James too. My mom and I know Author Theresa from Twitter and she makes Farloft come to life. We love dragon stories!

The characterization of the characters is gradually deeper. The story unfolds between spells and the beautiful stories narrated by Farloft the dragon.
Theresa Snyder's books are also excellent for people like me who is studying English and looking for a way to learn.

I finished the first part and knew I had to read the rest. This second part is a very enjoyable sequel that leaves me wanting to get on to the next right away!

The story is engaging and suitable for children of ages 8 to 80. I certainly enjoyed it!

Oh, and Farloft? Your hoard needs a health warning! Stop letting pieces of it cause so much trouble!

I loved the dragon & the healer, but the wizard disappointed me

What I enjoyed most about this book was the narrator, a healer named Theresa. I'm sick of YA novels where the narrator is young, impulsive, & clueless, so it was a big relief (and lots of fun) to have an older narrator with some wisdom & maturity. I especially enjoyed the part where she's watching her niece, smiles to herself, and thinks, "Ah, young love." She sees all the potential for heartbreak but all the beauty of the present moment too, and is content to just be quiet & observe.

#Farloft the Dragon is as delightful as ever (it was his big personality on Twitter that drew me to this series.) Like its predecessor, this book ends on a suspenseful note which encourages you to read further in the series.

However, I was disappointed with how the wizard plot line turned out. In the first book, the wizard is more of a gray character; you see he's a jerk, but you feel sorry for him too. In this book, he shifts from being a gray character to being a more pure evil character. I liked it better when there was a sense of both sides having sinned in the dragon-wizard conflict. I was rooting for that complex & troubled relationship to be healed, and I was disappointed.

After the end of the first story, I was very intetested in seeing how James adapts to his new life. And while it wasn't the main focus, it was enough to make me happy. Especially when this once-human boy found himself influenced by dragon instincts.
I also really enjoyed the conflict that arose midway through this story. Overall, this felt like a great continuation of the first story, and I look forward to finding out what happens next. Maybe James will learn how to breathe fire!
